Oh I meant from this set, my bad. I just look at the Eldrazi from this set and ask myself: "Is this on par or better than Ulamog's Crusher?" So far only Ulamog 2.0 and the uncommon Golgari one have stood out.
Blighted Woodland has passed the test and will remain in my 540 cube. I'd forgotten just how much I love combining Krosan Verge effects with Life from the Loam, and coming into play untapped has really pushed this into the realm of playability for me.
I kinda like Void Winnower and might even put it into one of my temporary test slots. Costing 9 means it is purely for super ramp and cheating decks though. Wish it would cost 7 (and be just 9/7 or so). Then it would have a shot to be played in some other decks, too.
I am not sure how it is in other cubes, but my cube has well enough colorless 6-drops, while it could stand another colorless 5-drop or two. Therefore, Oblivion Sower won't find a place. That slot is just too crowded already.
The lack of cubable Eldrazi irks me so much, I might even test out Endless One after all. That card is the epitome of mediocre though and I can't see it making many maindecks.
I ended up getting a ton of cards from BFZ to solidify a Lands theme in my cube, but the big thing in this set was definitely what it adds to the utility land draft. The majority of both utility land cycles are really good, especially the mini-Volrath's Stronghold and the U and G Blighted lands. I wouldn't have room for any of them without the ULD giving me free land slots though.
Other than that, the cards I'm most excited about are Retreat to Coralhelm (for the combo potential with KotR) and Halimar Tidecaller. There are very few bad Awaken cards, and Tidecaller is making me think hard about doubling up on a couple of them, maybe the Cancel and the Unsummon, to give her sort of a Trinket-Mage-esque package.

I might try Void Winnower as just a fun card. I don't expect to be amazing but at this point it's better than a lot of the other Eldrazi from this set. I think it's tough evaluating in a vacuum because its effectiveness depends on what your opponent drafted.
I did a draft last night and was not impressed with Endless One at all. It's literally the 40th card and you're right that it's the face of mediocre. It really needed another ability on it otherwise it will always be a mediocre curve filler. Easy cut from my cube.
Man, after playing with him more, I really wish Greenwarden was good enough. It's kinda sad how much I like this #4 green fatties but got spaces for only 3.
It may not have been the fatty we imagined but I think we finally have another worthy 6 drop. And green is getting so many fatties at 4,5, and 7 we can leave a little value at 6. I got to phantasmal image him yesterday....so good.
For those who play See the Unwritten, Greenwarden certainly plays well with it.
I had kind of written off see the unwritten, maybe I will bench tooth and nail for a while and give it a ride.
Same here, I thought Tooth and Nail was vastly superior to See the Unwritten. I know it costs a bit more but I figured if you want a big effect that puts creatures directly into play, Tooth and Nail was the way to go because it doesn't have a drawback. Might try See the Unwritten just because I have one laying around.
I tested Summoning Trap back in Zendikar, and it's really not bad. The counter clause making the spell free is surprisingly relevant for midrange/cheaty deck's trickiest matchup against control. And the big targets have got much better since then, so it may be worth revisiting some time for people with a liking for those decks.
Summoning Trap is fine, but not really great. Casting it for full cost and missing or hitting a creature that's not worth the 6 mana investment is a *****ty feeling and not exactly rare. When it's been in the MODO cubes I like to pick it late out of packs since it is a good SB card against the blue decks, but I would have trouble finding enough reasons to run it in my own list.
I kind of like Oblivion Sower.
