This card seems pretty good to me, repeatable colorless Rampant Growth effects are pretty strong. I could easily see this getting 2-3 lands a game and giving the P/T bonus all along... seems worth 2 + 2 to me.
Yeah, I just saw this on the visual spoiler. Looks strong. I think I like the repeatable Rampant Growth part more than the +1/+1, but the combo of effects is definitely worth 2 + 2.
I like this in EDH more than cube. I agree that the value from lands coming into play looks good on paper, but I'm afraid it's too slow for midrange decks and too weak (in terms of power-boosting) for aggro decks. Good enough in 540+ in my opinion, but seems too slow for tighter lists.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
It's nice that it works off the attack trigger, and I suppose if you keep attacking you keep getting card advantage, but I feel like I'd prefer to have a Sword every time, and those are just 1 mana more (and can still get started turn 3 with an elf). Unless I didn't include swords; then it's probably pretty rad.
I love this for EDH Cube, but I'm a little surprised to see it being seriously discussed for regular Cube. By Wtwlf no less. It's definitely no Jitte or Sword, but it does seem like it could have a solid impact over the course of the game.

This is probably the next best equipment behind Lightning Greaves. I could see myself running it for sure if I decide I want another piece of equipment.
Leonin Scimitar? Does that card ramp, fix mana and provide repeatable card advantage? Oh, no, it doesn't. If you're really under the assumption that this Sword is being praised for the +1/+1 potential, I don't know what to tell you.
Aggressive midrange decks, midrange decks and ramp decks would all be happy to play this.
If the card is included in a list to use a turn 1 Savannah Lion to ramp into a turn-4 5-drop into a turn-6 8-drop, I can't imagine the deck this lives in is remotely playable.

Right. Which is why nobody is suggesting that...
This is more of a colorless value/card advantage engine for midrange decks. Like a pseudo-Coercive Portal/Phyrexian Arena kind of card. It "draws" cards around the same time as those two cards (if not earlier) but instead of just drawing cards, it gives you a Rampant Growth every turn. In addition to providing a small combat boost for one of your critters. I think 2 + 2 is more than a fair cost for something that generates me +1CA every turn in addition to a combat bonus.
Not a 360 staple or anything, but I could definitely see medium/large-sized cubes getting value from this card.
I'm hoping that an equipment-themed deck will one day become a possibility, so more playable equipment is a boon. I have a few artifacts on the chopping block so maybe I can give this a proper look.
I think the real question is how this compares to other equipment at that cost. Is it better than Vulshok Morningstar or Empyrial Plate? I'd say yes in both cases. For those of us with larger cubes, and/or looking to up the equipment count (which in turn makes SFM and Relic Hunter more relevant) I'd argue its worth at least testing.
I think there is a danger in evaluating equipment based on their viability in RDW or White-weenie style aggro and forget that equipment has historically slotted well into many different archetypes. For instance, I like Lightning Greaves even though it's not making my 23 in RDW, instead it likely will be in my Gx ramp deck.
This looks like almost purely a midrange card to me. Control and ramp have too few early creatures to put this on and aggro would prefer a better combat boost (à la Vulshok Morningstar or its more variable cousin Empyrial Plate) to the land ramp. Note that this is only valuable in a Braids/Stax deck if your attacking creature survives combat, because losing a permanent to gain another permanent doesn't give you more sac fodder.
Maybe this is marginally better than Morningstar and Plate? I don't know. Not a card that I am overly excited about though, but I might still try it out.
Agree with everyone saying this is a midrange card. I just don't know if I'd ever want to play this over a Sword. That said, we Glimpse, and pretty much if you aren't picking a sword you are burning a sword so it's not uncommon to go a whole draft and not see a single one. Having an extra piece could be good. If we ever get enough land matters card this could also be a solid addition to that type of deck. I'll likely test this out. I currently run 9 equipment, and 10 just feels like a good number haha!
I feel this is going to play out a lot like explorer's scope. That card came out faster but this is more reliable. Scope was a fun card in conspriacy draft but not cube materail. I think it will be the same way here.

It will be hard to set up I think.

It triggers when the equipped creature attacks. It doesn't have to get through.

It does? You get the trigger when the creature attacks, not when it connects.
I like this a lot more. 3 + 3 proved to be too expensive, almost regardless of what the effect was.

Is this not just worse than Leonin Scimitar (or Sphere of the Suns, depending on which archetype you're trying to support)?
What am I missing?

Fixing, ramp, and damage in one card sounds good. I'd rank it below all the tier 1 equipment, but its still pretty good.
