Man this card is interesting. You put yourself on a 3 turn clock but you can always have sac outlets or reset it if you run Venser. The effects are all powerful enough to make an impact. I really want this card to be good because it looks so fun and flavourful!
I love the design of this card so much. And I've been trying to convince myself it's cubeworthy for the last 10 minutes or so...but at the end of the day I can't quite make myself get there.
Super fun, super flavorful, but I don't think this card is good. Too many things can happen in the cube to change the landscape of the board quickly, and then you wind up dying to your own card. And very few sac outlets (only 1 in the cube I can think of) allow you to sacrifice your own enchantments.
For me it probably would have to have been alot more amped in exchange for a 3 turn clock. Don't get me wrong it is a cool card that I would love to run , but I would need these abilities strapped to a 4/5 flying demon to make it into my cube.

With flying, yes! That would have been pretty nutter butters.
I actually rather like it as a Kaervek's Spite-style finisher for Blaggro. Play it on turn 4, strip their hand of answers, draw burn, shoot them in the face. It does give your opponent an out they may not have had before, but that's on you, the player for casting it in an overly risky situation.
Of course, the true gambler plays this in the Smokestack deck. All in the name of value.
This card might or might not be cubable;it is difficult to evaluate. Of course, that matters not; it shall be in my cube forever either way.
Edit: I think you can play this is you are a sufficiently aggressive deck with some reach to draw into, have enough naturalizes, or have enough bounce. I suppose the ultimate combo is upheaval

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Best design I've seen in a long time. I really want to convince myself that this is worth it but I don't think it is. The crippling blow is that my black section doesn't have one card that resets it or gets rid of it. Wish Braids just went ahead and said permanents. Smokestacks does get it done though.
The problem (apart from the obvious 'you lose the game') is that it is too slow to be cubable. You play it and have to wait until your next turn to have the card do anything at all. That is unacceptable in the era of planes walkers.
Great design idea, but Dschumm is right, it should be more pushed to make up for the drawbacks (slow and putting yourself on a clock). It might be too easy to break it then though unless they include a sac drawback.
I rather be playing something like Yawgmoth's Bargain. I think this pact is just too risky. It gives 4 for 1 but makes you wait 4 turns for it. Bargain gives you straight X for 1 and does it 2 turns earlier. Really really flavorfull though.
Wow, what an interesting design. You get three pretty powerful effects (though nothing when you cast it), and basically have three turns to win or find a way to remove this enchantment.
All that said, I'm not going to be cubing this. Unless I go back and make an "interesting cards I would not otherwise cube" cube.
If stax, blaggro and blink are all huge archetypes in your cube, this is pretty good. If this was "at the end of your turn" I think it would be a lot better.
Looking through my list I have 6 cards that abuse this without simply destroying it, I think thats far too low for my tastes.
I mean, I would cube its first ability for 2BB though, so I think its not far off.
I absolutely adore this; I was rooting for this design during the YMTC. I am sorry to say that the final result is probably not quite strong enough. Mind Rot/Divination/Warleader's Helix are all impactful, like a souped-up 4 CMC planeswalker with suspend 1 - but I feel like we could have had a little more for the cost considering you're gonna lose the game. The problem is that in constructed formats you can very reliably get rid of this. Cube is lacking in ways to do so - things like Flickerwisp are just great with it, but there's aren't enough at get around it reliably in the cube. My aggro decks would certainly consider running it, but the package is lacking to offset the huge risk.
Costing less would have also been a HUGE boon. Being able to force in even a 1 or 2 drop alongside it to keep the pressure on would have made this much more attractive.
Anybody have experience with that package at 540 or so?
I mean, persecutor is awesome even without support but I suppose you knew that already.
Rules question: If you lose the game (Say, VIA This) and "can't lose the game" at that time (Say, VIA persecutor), once you can again lose the game (Persecutor dying) do you keep playing? Or have you already lost?
No if you lose the game but cant lose the game, you don't lose the game. It checks conditions when it leaves play, like life totals, but the lose trigger is already gone.

Gets pretty nasty with Flickerwisp and the like.

So does final fortune, and I think that's actually close to cubable. I don't think this is though =P
