So here is out green part of what is becoming a cheap and interesting cycle.
Turning into a 2/2 Birds of Paradise with vigilance instead of flying is pretty exciting for one mana. The problem is it will never produce mana the turn after it lands making it worse at ramping. Also unless it comes down on turn one (and sometimes even when it does) a 1/1 is not getting through very often. I feel like certain decks will really like this (gruul midrange/fires) because getting a little mana to fix ramp while beating down is great in that type of deck. It also has the removal to clear a path. But are there enough decks that want this?
I don't know how I feel about this card. The ceiling for this card is very high, as getting a 2/2 mana dork with vigilance is excellent, but the caveat is you would need to connect first, which isn't the easiest thing to do with a 1/1. Secondly, it doesn't accelerate me to a 3-drop on turn 2. I'd much rather my mana dorks be mana dorks, instead of doing double duty as an aggressive beater as well.
I missed vigilance on it at first blush, which made me think it was garbage.
It's definitely interesting. BCS, it's a all-colors mana dork on turns 3+ and also getting in for 2 on those turns.
WCS, it gets walled from turn one and it's a Wandering Ones

A vanilla 1/1 seems too much of a liability to wait for it to become a steward of valeron.
I imagine frustrating scenarios in which it remains a 1/1 bcause of any blocker across.
Like with the other Renown cards spoiled so far, I'm not very impressed. I feel the cards themselves have to be at least somewhat playable, and dropping 1/1s and 2/2s with no combat stats just does not interest me.
This is the kind of card I get all excited about and post in the Forum, but after some thought is seems much worse. I get all these visions of Lotus Cobra but in the end this dude is a 1/1.
I'd play it in that RG aggro for sure, but I don't know how good it would be in most other green decks. It has lower potential damage output then all other attacking green one drops I play and is an iffy ramp card at best.
Card is garbage day for cube. D- you lose. 0% chance of inclusion.
This guys upside is to turn from a 1 drop that would be unplayable in normal limited, to a mediocore cube 2 drop on connect.
Compared to relic hunter, this guys worst case scenario is much worse, and his best case scenario is sooo MUCH worse...
And while I think relic hunter is a great card, I still don't know if he's going to crack the top 30.
As an aggro creature, it's pretty weak. And as a mana dork, it's unreliable. The fact that it's a bybrid of both is kinda interesting, but ultimately I don't think it's good enough.
So frustrating. Why can't the color with ostensibly the "best" creatures get some decent aggro 1-drops? R/W/B have been saturated with awesome ones lately.
Man, so many "almosts" in this spoiler season. This is yet another card were one tiny change pushes it into playability range, but it just falls short as is. Too bad.
I can't add much to the general consensus. It's very weak really. I'm sure that being a one drop green creature with 'Hierarch' in the name will make it pre-order for $$$, though!
Yeah, I don't think I'd be interested in running this unless I was already running every remotely playable green one drop and my cube size was like, 1080 or something so I still needed another one.
