Have you guys tested this card? How does it work in practice in cube? Getting extra cards and life in black seems just fine! Plus this color is well positionned to sacrifice a recurring creature like Bloodgast or Gravecrawler.
I'm redefining my black 4-drop section and this dude has come to my mind.
Ya, he's a solid guy. With a deep enough sac/recursion theme, it's pretty solid. I wish it didn't say "another" creature though; there were times it was a blank when it was by its lonesome.
Been in and out of my cube a few times as I always seem to reshuffle my 4 drops. It is great as a hedge with Master of the Feast and Abyssal Persecutor. It was my favorite curve out after Geralf's Messnger. And some more life gain in black is always welcome.
That said 2/1 is really anemic and as white wolf said, it would be better if it could sac itself.
If you are at all interested, I recommend giving it a spin as the effect is quite unique.
Yes, DoB's ability wouldn't even trigger until after Angel of Glory's Rise's ability fully resolves. By that time, both creatures will be in play at the same time.
If I'm having multiple creatures enter the battlefield from the graveyard, do I choose in which order they enter?
Nope, they all enter at the same time, and then their ETB effects go off in whichever order you choose.
Disciple of Bolas has been in my cube basically since he was printed. I find him pretty vanilla and boring, and tend to try and cut him, and the resident Spike, Johnny and hardcore Esper player in my group draft it, deck it and abuse it each time I go close.
For the record, Disciple saccing Thragtusk is a biiig swing.
Enters The Battlefield.
So everything gets slapped back on the table at the same time, and then you look at anything that says "When this enters the battlefield...", and choose the order they all go off in.
Can I cast the cards drawn with Necropotence during the beginning of my end step (before the discard phase)?
Also, is there a difference between Necropotence and Yawgmoth's Bargain besides the CC?
So...let me get this straight. I have to choose the amount of cards first, then use them later. I can't draw 5 cards, then cast spells, then draw two cards, then cast spells....
Also, if I spend mana with say a black lotus during my upkeep and I only needed two mana, can I use the third mana in my next phase?

Presuming you're talking about Necropotence, that's correct. You pay 5 life, then draw 5 cards during your discard step. With Bargain, you get the cards right away, can cast spells, draw more, etc.
Also, if I spend mana with say a black lotus during my upkeep and I only needed two mana, can I use the third mana in my next phase?
No. Mana in your pool empties at the end of each phase and step.
So last night I returned DOB from the GY to draw a card for the win (Lab Man). My opponent cast Chain of Vapors on my Lab Man causing me to lose the game :frown:. In discussing afterwards he said Azami Lady of Scrolls instead of DOB would have done the trick. I don't understand the differences in the timing of these two cards. Can someone please explain? Thanks.
No. They both use the stack. But you can activate Azami twice. Once when you try and win the first time, and once in response to the Chain. So you've won the game before Chain bounces the Maniac.
