Eladamri's Call :



I'm redefining my GW section right now and I'm was wondering the addition of this card. What do you guys think about it? Where does it stand in your evaluation of the GW section? I know there's a ton of options there, but in a cube where there's 5 spot available at GW, do you think one could be deserve to this card? Where does it stand compare to bottom cards like Sigarda, Host of Herons or Knight of Reliquary in your opinion?

I would play at least a dozen WG cards before this would be up for any legitimate consideration.

I would play worldly tutor, Sylvan tutor, and Summoner's pact before I would play this card. Green white has too many options better than this one.

GW is an embarrassment of riches, and this card falls behind at least 2-3 Cubes' worth of GW cards before I would want to play this one. It just doesn't do enough compared to what else is out there in the combination. I've had my Cube for a long time, and cards I have played (and considered) over this one include:

Gaddock Teeg
Voice of Resurgence
Qasali Pridemage
Dryad Militant
Armadillo Cloak (and by extension, Unflinching Courage)
Sigarda, Host of Herons

Fleecemane Lion
Behemoth Sledge
Loxodon Smiter
Watchwolf (I know, right? Hooray for power creep!)

Obviously some of these cards saw play before newer cards were printed, but every one of them was on my radar for what my Cube needed for Eladamri's Call.

i've had it in my 6 selesnya cards in my 720 and it's been fine for us. i like it because it does something different than the rest of the gw spells which are mostly just creatures. i play:

Dryad Militant
Kitchen Finks
Voice of Resurgence
Qasali Pridemage
Mirari's Wake
Eladamri's Call

using Ant's list, i think smiter, lion, sledge, and KotR are all great options, but I don't think any of them are tiers above or below what i play.

i don't think watchwolf, glare, hierarch, sigarda, cloak, courage or teeg are as good as the rest.

Yeah, obviously cards like Watchwolf are relics of the past. Same with auras in a removal-heavy world. But EC has been available all the years I've had my Cube, but I've run those cards over it.

I can't see wanting it in my cube. As noted by others, there are just too many options. I run 5 cards for each guild in my 480, and my green is at:

Ya, as creatures have become both better and more important, Call has increased in value. If you're playing creature-based combo decks or have a handful of best-in-slot targets for it, it's far better than it used to be (when creatures were the worst part of any deck they were in).
