I recently went 3 - 0 in a deck that ran Fauna Shaman, Feldon, Thragtusk and Zealous Conscripts. I ran into an opponent that couldn't stop me looping Thragtusk each turn. So gaining 5, a free attack and a 3/3 beast was a pretty good investment. Helped me stabilise and eventually win. Fragile combo yes but if they cant deal with it, like anything, sucks for them!
I added Feldon in for some diversity in Red and he has been great and wont be going anywhere.
Card's been great; it's seen some sweet play in my Cube with Survival of the Fittest. Basically, the player would pitch an Emrakul to SotF, recur it with Feldon, tutor up a creature, and swing in with an Emrakul token. If you weren't dead by then, the Emrakul got shuffled in, and he'd have a creature from activating Survival before to do it again next turn. I really don't know what more people want from a 3-drop; it's probably the third best one in red, behind Goblin Rabblemaster and Imperial Recruiter.
