I want to support a more aggressive subtheme in my artifact section. Swords of X and Y are outside my budget range and frankly I would prefer to find more creatures than equipment anyway. What are the best aggressive colorless creatures that can be picked up by any aggro deck? How would you rank cards like Spined Thopter? What about something like Signal Pest?

White gets a 2/1 flying for 1W, black gets a 2/1 flying for 1B with a drawback. Neither costs 2 life, but neither is playable in as many decks as Spined Thopter. Red doesn't get any flying normally. Spined Thopter isn't exciting, but it's the type of card I'm looking for and might be the best option amongst this set. One of the people in my cube group really wants Vault Skirge in one of these slots, but I don't view that as an aggressive creature at all. (And frankly, not as a very good creature either.)
Phyrexian Revoker is a good call. Molten-Tail Masticore is worth considering, but most of my aggro decks don't need more 4-drops. I'm already running all of the hybrid aggro creatures, although I'm thining about cutting Tattermunge Maniac since I don't support super aggressive green decks.

I think of the masticores as mid range. Vault Skirge is enjoyable but without swords he gets a lot worse.
These phyrexian 2 drops are great off ancient tomb.
Budget concerns are real when it comes to sword but if I didn't have them I would look to other equipment to help makes sure my small guys can still kick ass. Grafted Wargear is a must. I would also look at Trusted Machete, Vulshok Morningstar, and Loxodon Warhammer. I would cube with those for sure if I passed on the swords.
All these cheap guys up your tinker targets as well.
Grafted Wargear is an excellent choice. The other equipment you mentioned seems much worse than Wargear and Bonesplitter. Do you think a lot of equipment is really important to aggressive decks? I always thought the huge equipment sections in most cubes were simply because 5x swords + Jitte + Grafted Wargear + Bonesplitter were all extremely good cards and the section was built around those.

Are Winter Orb, Tangle Wire, and Smokestack really considered aggressive cards? I always considered them to be more for mana denial and pox type decks and the last two for mid-range that could get more permanents on board fast. Winter Orb seems more plausible than the others.

Tangle wire on tempo can totally seal an aggro win. I use a lot of the 'lesser' equipment along side some of the XY swords and find them all to be useful. They may seem lackluster but aggro decks use mostly lackluster cards to create a very consistent deck.
Tangle wire might be the single best agro card in cube.
Word. And I think, other than Legionnaire, Molten-Tail Masticore is the best aggro artifact creature. Black Vise is kind of a must if you want to push aggro in your artifact section.
Specifically, I think my aggro decks lack reach sometimes. Tangle wire is definitely getting tested as well as Strip Mine in some slots I'm opening up. I have maybe one more slot for something like Black Vice or Ankh or Mishra. Not sure what the best choice is.
Thanks for all the excellent suggestions btw.
P.S. I've started multiple discussions about things because I wanted to get more information for something I'm struggling with in my cube. I have focused on my own cube and environment quite a bit here and in the others I've started. I hope that's not an issue. I'm doing this because I haven't gotten any feedback in my cube's thread, so I wanted to branch out. Hopefully there is also useful information here for others as well as myself.
You're very welcome. And for what it's worth, I think that Spined Thopter is a reasonable choice for an aggressive evasive beater that can be slotted into multiple aggro builds. Give it a shot and see how it does for you.
I don't run Spined Thopter anymore but it was totally fine for a long time in my Cube & wouldn't fault anyone for running it. I like Stormfront Pegasus more than most & Spined Thopter goes in more decks.
Spined thopter is exactly what I'm looking for, awesome suggestion. Signal pest is a little similar
Question, how deep do you have to go if you want to support Arcbound Ravager? Its a little narrow sure, but I think it could be a fun cube deck if you got it to work.
What is the best way to handle Togglodyte? I feel like his On/Off thing has memory problems. If he had Vigilance they could just make him tap/untap on spellcasts and not untap on upkeep to track it easily.

I put a counter on him that I slide from on to off and back.
We were using a counter to slide on/off as well. Then I got a cheap give-away at a convention that was essentially a little plastic cube with an LED in it, plus an on off button. Works great.

Smokestack is a little slow for hard aggro, but Orb and Wire are nasty aggro cards.
