I don't think you'd ever get two snakes, since the trigger will see that you already have a snake and so you won't get a second. I would think you could stack the triggers in combo with Smokestack or something, though. I'm no rules guru, but I would think that it would trigger, check to see if you already have a snake in play and then either give you a snake or do nothing. Not triggering at all doesn't make sense to me, but then again there are quite a few rulings in Magic that don't make sense to me.
I'm no rules expert, but I believe what happens is that any trigger that has an IF in it has to meet the IF clause to trigger in the first place, and for it to resolve. So, for example, if you have Near-Death Experience out, and you're at 4 life on your upkeep, you can't let the trigger happen, then respond to it by lightning bolting yourself, and win, because the trigger never occurs, since you weren't at 1 life.
Similarly, if you control a snake, this doesn't trigger at all, so you can't stack the triggers on your own turn. That makes it awkward for Braids and Smokestack, since you won't be able to sacrifice a snake and get a new one on the same turn.

This is correct.

No, you're very right, and the explanation was very clear.

Correct, but it will rarely matter. Watch this sequence:
You control this guy and a snake and smokestacks.
Your Turn: smokestacks away your snake.
Their Turn: they sac and you make a snake. They swing, you trade the snake.
Your turn: both trigger, make the snake then smokestacks away the snake.
Their Turn: you make a snake and they sac.
Repeat until opponent concedes.
The every turn portion of this card is backbreaking with smokestacks, as even in this case, you can use it to block and sack to stacks in the exact same turn cycle.
def went to smokestack/braids type of deck when this popped up. we know black can use more oomph at 3cmc, so worth a shot! even chump blocking is fine.
I really like this guy. At worst he guarantees you always have a 1/1 deathtouch on defense, and with sac for value outlets he just starts to get out of control. Just thinking about this guy with clamp makes me smile.
This card was an absolute house in a BU control deck last night. Blocking for value when needed & wearing a Skullclamp like a champ. I never hit my Arc Trail against my opponent and I think having a repeatable way to draw cards with his Clamp was the key to his victory. It also took out a Prime Time in a different match with the deathtouch snake...then the snake came back the next turn.
I've been "meh" on this card since we added it but last night showed its true value. It will be in the Cube for a while.
We're also really enjoying it. There's a ton of ways to abuse it and/or get extra value from it in the cube, but even at face value the creature is very respectable. 3cc splashable card advantage creatures are always welcome.
People who played with this guy last weekend said the 1/1 deathtouch token just stopped people from attacking. The actual 2/2 guy didn't matter - it was the body she produced. Defensively, this is a great card.
The combination of defence and combo has been what makes this an excellent card for us. If he is not killed, he keeps your opponent's creatures at bay whilst you assemble the other parts of whatever combo you intend to use with him.

Yep it just generally makes attacking unprofitable. And the combos with Smokestack, Skullclamp, Carrion Feeder, etc puts it over the top.
People don't want to block the token either, which gives the token some kind of pseudo-evasion of sorts. It's also still 3 power for 3 mana, and it's splashable. Great card.

I wish they made a token for it.

Oops, my mistake. I should know better than to not have read the card more carefully.
