The cards are comparable but Recoil has the added effect of hitting pesky permanents that Far//Away would otherwise never be able to hit. I'm not currently running Recoil so I don't really have a basis for this conjecture but I think you should check how relevant bouncing a pesky permanent and having them discard it is vs bouncing a guy and killing another guy.
It may end up being marginal, in which case i think Far//Away will end up being more valuable.
Another replacement that I have to make is Recoil for Far/Away, and this is a closest one.
I think Far/Away is better because more flexible, even if more expensive if you want to make full value out of it.
What do you guys think?
I had recoil in for a long time before it got replaced with Dimir Charm. I think this is a great swap. Sometimes recoil was a pimp but good chances are you will be able to make Far/Away just as good in that situation, and it will be better in others. I have enjoyed Dimir Charm, but have only used two of the modes and I think this might be worth a try to get even mroe out of that slot.
Got two of these in my sealed pool, and they did a lot of work. The card is so versatile and powerful in its various modes that it convinced me to run it. The sacrifice is an instant, which I didn't notice previously and it can lead to huge tempo gains, and the RTR-GTC-DGM environment makes it a 2f1 a lot of the time with the plethora of tokens. This won't completely carry over, but there are plenty of tokens in cube, Thrag, Batterskull etc.
