I feel like compulsive research wins in a land slide. I guess Epiphany at the drownyard could potentially dig deeper into your deck, but three cards is already pretty deep, and letting your opponent choose is a huge downside. The real upside with research is being able to put something that was stuck in your hand into the graveyard, most notably reanimation targets.
While in a value since I believe research is strictly better, Epiphany leads to more player interaction and a potentially tricky decision in making or choosing piles. If you want to play a sub-optimal card in favor of more fun games I would go for it.
If I ran only two red planeswalkers, those would be the two. I see no real reason to choose between them. Both seem like staples all the way down to 360.

I can't say I'm pleased to see you and must warn you I may have to do something about it.

I don't want to oversaturate with planeswalkers... but if both are staples than maybe I should try to get ahold of the Torch of Defiance. Then I can swap between them from time to time to bring fresh wind into my cube.
Both are pretty easily the best mono-red planeswalkers, IMHO. I'm with MikePemulis, unless you're only running one walker per color for some reason, I'd find another cut to make room for Chandra, Torch of Defiance.

Thanks folks, I'm already running Pull from Tomorrow, fairly solid preference for Compulsive, I quite liked Steam Augury a few years back but it can't compete in the guild slot, this is why Epiphany was tempting.
I probably Like Chandra, Torch of Defiance more than most. Torch is actually one of my cards favorite to have came out recently, and in a direct comparison to Chandra, Flamecaller I would windmill slam Torch. That being said I don't believe playing both would really over-saturate your cube. They do such different things that you could run both and they wont clash.
I will confess that I have never tried Flamecaller in my cube, and I still run Koth of the Hammer. I think Flamecaller is better than koth, but I still find it hard to play a 6-drop in my red section. This post has convinced me to give her a try though.
I like Chandra, Flamecaller much more than Koth. Koth is fairly redundant with Hellrider / Hero of Oxid Ridge / Hazoret / Fleetwheel Cruiser providing a similar effect.
If I were to choose between Koth and all those 4s, I'd take Koth over Hero/Hazoret/Fleetwheel Cruiser. I think he's close with Hellrider, but I think he's better than all those options. So, maybe cut Hero and play Koth? Or Hazoret?
Koth is just great since it dodges sorcery speed removal for that hit, he's hard to deal with otherwise, and he has an ultimate that is pretty much unbeatable. Like, if you're getting chumped for days it's fine with Koth since you're going to get that damage through eventually. Also his second ability can be great in big red decks, so he tends to have more application than all the options above other than Hazoret.
If powered and Storm is supported, I'd say Chain of Vapor is a close second to Vapor Snag since it also allows bouncing moxen for ramp and storm count.
Ohhhh... I missed Clutch of Currents. Interesting. I am a big fan of value, and 90+% of the time these spells are just bouncing a creature at sorcery speed anyway, so maybe the added versatility of being able to bounce a noncreature or being able to bounce something at instant speed isn't worth it compared to the chance of being able to Flashback or Awaken.
While in a value since I believe research is strictly better, Epiphany leads to more player interaction and a potentially tricky decision in making or choosing piles. If you want to play a sub-optimal card in favor of more fun games I would go for it.
Cheers,

Should I run Chandra, Flamecaller instead of Koth of the Hammer, or should I cut a different card to include Chandra?
