Drana is better for aggro and token shells, and Nighthawk is better for slower midrange decks and control decks. I might actually prefer Nighthawk just because the lifelink is so welcome for a lot of black decks, and it gives control shells a decent early drop.
After adding some aggro support and a small morph package, I find I'm running too many 2 drops in green, and would like to cut one for the new Selvala.
Hellspark seems like the narrowest card. Unlike lots of others here, I'm not in love with Chandra's Phoenix, but Hellspark Elemental is less good.

I'm also not a big fan of Chandra's Phoenix and would cut it before Hellspark Elemental. I usually use my burn spells to deal with creatures until I'm (close to) closing out the game, which makes the Phoenix a 2/2 flying, haste most of the time (which is okay, but unimpressive).
I have Dauthi Horror in my cube since forever, and my friends hate it and the mechanic Shadow in general because it is non-interactive and the card is just a boring beater. Also, this card and his Shadow friend are unpimp-able and I'm trying to acquire every card in my cube that I can as a foil...
1. Is Dauthi Horror a staple that we can never cut because how it is an absolute beater in aggro?
2. What do you think about the replacment above?
3. What do you think about Shadow in general?
@netn10: From your list, if you wanted to cut a shadow beater, I'd cut Dauthi Marauder and leave Dauthi Horror in. To answer your questions...
1. I don't know that it's a staple, but I'd rank it somewhere in the top ten black 2cc creatures.
2. I think there are a few cards in your list that I'd cut before Dauthi Horror to make room for Heir.
3. I love shadow, but I also started playing during the time that it was introduced in Tempest. I might be a little biased and nostalgic for it.
I like Heir more but Dauthi Horror is still solid. Shadow is a simple mechanic. It is a net upside but a serious downside often too so I find many of them are becoming too weak anyway without artificial purges. Some amount of evasion is wanted to prevent board stalls and allow for interaction with planeswalkers and there are few evasive black two drops.
I think Frost Titan is the one most folks leave out, but I'm curious to hear if there's any dissent on that point.

Raw power level, Frost is probably the one you want to cut. That said, it's actually removal in blue. It locks down manlands (often problematic for control), and it's surprisingly difficult to get rid of. My list is lower power than most here and all three of these cards are too good, including Frost Titan. Point is, I think you could choose any two of them and really be fine. Which two does your group favor and put in decks most often? Run those two.
Consecrated Sphinx is prob the best blue 6 drop by a mile, and the other two are pretty interchangeable with Frost Titan getting the nod from me because of the lack of mana commitment, though FWIW Aetherling is way more of a pain when it gets going.
I'd also cut Frost Titan. Consecrated Sphinx is amazing CA, and Aetherling wins really fast. Aetherling can be considered a 7 drop, because it's often a good idea to keep that one mana open to save him. But at that point it's much better than Frost Titan, imo. Frosty's protection usually just means they need to spend a full turn of mana for removal.
I actually recently started running all 3 again. Frost Titan has always come and gone but I run a 360 Cube and only draft 4 players so having that extra Blue big guy never goes astray. I actually had Frost and Consecrated in my deck last Monday and loved Frost Titan! In saying that, if you cutting one of those it has to be Frosty on power level.
If you would have asked me this question while EMN was first being spoiled, I would have said Ulamog, no questions asked, but Emrakul has been testing EXTREMELY well and often costs much less than Ulamog.
Both are pretty equal, but I'm going to give a slight nod to Emrakul for being more castable.
I would go for old Marchesa, based on the requirements you listed. However, if becoming the monarch turns out to be more important than old Marchesa's built-in recursion, I would make the swap.
I've got to make a cut for Natural Order. I've got it narrowed down to Harmonize or Search for Tomorrow. I'm leaning toward cutting the former. Thoughts?

Heir of Falkenrath is the most similar card to Dauthi Horror that I found.
