Lens is colorless when you don't care (which is very common) and emergency fixing, which I prefer over the inconsistency of Fellwar. I give Idol the edge of Fellwar as well, as being able to swing is pretty cool. At 450 unpowered I currently only run Lens of that bunch, though.

Initially when I planned my cuts for the OGW adds, I thought it was obvious to replace Void Winnower with the new Kozilek in my cube. I have thought more about this recently and I actually liked Winnower a lot when I played with it. The new big mana Eldrazi are a lot more versatile because they can be played in Reanimation decks aswell. Am I crazy for wanting to keep Winnower over old Ulamog?
My cube also have Newlamog and old Kozilek, but I think those are better options than Emrakul / Oldamog.
Out of those I'd cut Priest of the Blood Rite. I'll admit that I probably like it more than most, but that's because I tend to play decks that abuse the crap out of it. Kalitas is very versatile and can go into more decks and solves life loss problems instead of adding onto them.
Terastodon is playable in a lot more decks, but the Wurm is pretty much the nutz when you drop it in certain situations. I play the big elephant and cut the Wurm because of how limited its applications were.
That is what we thought until now, but we do Rochester full table and support Sneak Attack, Eureka and big ramp. This is what made me doubt. The Wurm is also big enough to make it worth to try and combo it out.
I like Harm's Way a lot more. It's a blowout combat trick that nobody ever sees coming. And it doubles as a Condemn effect of sorts against aggressive attackers.
Both are great but I like Fire // Ice more because it's cheaper and more versatile. Ice in particular can be very annoying early game by using it on your opponent's land and late game it buys you time against one of their finishers.

Yeah, that was my reasoning too. Also taps that winter orb for the big plays.
But, I do not mean the manlands. The question is:
"Battle Lands" (Prairie Stream, Sunken Hollow, Smoldering Marsh, Cinder Glade, Canopy Vista) vs "Check Lands" (Glacial Fortress, Drowned Catacomb, Dragonskull Summit, Sunpetal Grove, Rootbound Crag)? In the case of "Battle Lands" being better. Excluding the interaction "Fetch Lands", they are still better?
And the manland answers were in response to Tengu Drum's question, not yours.
