Boros Charm is a home run. The card's completely savage. Experiment One is great if you support Stompy.
I like Dimir Charm and Simic Charm, but they're no more than solid filler cards. Aurelia's Fury I need to play test more to find out if it's actually worth a slot. Prime Speaker Zegana is a fun and exciting creature, but she's also just a placeholder.
None of the other spoiled cards will be going into my cube at this point.
I'm not sure I agree with this. It's countermagic that protects your creatures from some removal, and it might be a decent combat trick but your guy has to be big enough for double strike to matter (which isn't always true in the land of boros 2/2s), or it's just damage to a player.
They're all decent, but most of my boros decks don't want to leave 2 mana open waiting for my opponent to try to remove their creatures, so the indestructible part leaves a lot to be desired.
I'm not faulting anyone who chooses to play it, but I don't consider it a home run at all.
Crypt Ghast was too fragile for us. We tested it but it didn't interest us.
Edit: Ha, okay man. Boros Charm is completely nuts. It belongs in even the smallest lists. It's far and away the only bomb from this set so far. It's FAR beyond what you just described.
Boros charm is insane. Two of its modes are more competitively costed than similar non-modal cards. The double strike mode would be fairly costed as an individual spell.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.

It's not just creatures, it's permanents. That is huge. If it was just creatures I'd be less excited, but it makes cards like geddon/wrath one sided and protects any of your stuff from the multitude of kill spells.
New 2/1 guy is a miss for me. There are plenty of 1R 2/1s that don't make the cut - he has a decent ability, but no haste or larger butt kills it for me pretty quickly.

Yes, all the Battalion cards have been pretty subpar. As I said in another thread, the only way this mechanic would really be good in cube would be if your Battalioner generated an army upon ETB.

Did Obzedat fail to perform? I like it a lot, but I like all my other Orzhov cards a lot too (plus Stillmoon, which I don't even run any more). Orzhov got really stacked in Innistrad block, so it's hard for GTC to get a card in that guild.
Do you think Simic Charm makes the top 5 Simic cards? I want to replace Coiling Oracle, but nothing spoiled seems better than the other four cards I run (usual suspects).
Experiment One and Boros Charm are both excellent. I have hopes for a Boros 1-drop (and a Gruul one--please, please, please!).
I think Simic Charm is possibly #5. Outside of Trygon, Edric, SSS, and Snake, I think Simic is a pretty weak guide. I like it better than Coiling Oracle, anyways.
Boros 1R two drop of the set is a miss. I kind of have so much hope for that slot too… Oh well. Hoping the Gruul two drop will still be there.
This kind of set once in a while isn't bad for me. It's getting really hard to update my cube this past few sets. Instead of multiple 450 cards that I want to spend money to test, I instead get a 2 360 staple that will remain in my cube for a while.
My guess is that boros decks and battalion won't play out like traditional RW decks of attacking early and often, but more likely setup a good board state and then attack with everyone, trigger multiple battalion and have tricks to decimate the opponent's board and life. Esp paired up with bloodrush, I can imagine this is a pretty devastating alpha strike.
I don't think this would match up as well in cube however, since aggro decks attack early and often. Committing guys to a board without attacking seems ripe for a delicious board wipe. GTC limited won't have this problem, but Cube does.
Sure I would MD it in any mono deck and most X/y splash decks, but I'm not sure it's worth a slot in the same way I don't run Karakas despite it having no downside.

I actually agree with this and I think Boros Charm is being over valued. We have been testing it and it's been fine but not great. The problem is that it actually only has one mode most of the time which is the indestructible mode. The double strike will almost never be relevant since it's usually going to be better to 4 them. So when it's in your opener it's really annoying because burning their face is just terrible early on, the double strike isn't a mode, and you have to keep your mana open for the only mode that's really usable. For the most part I have wanted a burn spell over it so I can actually kill their creatures rather than having them play a Rofellos/Bob/etc. and then staring at Boros Charm feeling like an idiot. It's good wrath protection but outside of that I haven't been overly impressed by the card. It's not a bad card but it's not the god card people are claiming it to be.

That's the only mode it doesn't have: Creature Removal. It does pretty much everything else, though. Just play other burn cards.

Obzedat was unimpressive. He was pretty low impact for a cube 5-drop. Especially a gold one.
Simic Charm is probably Simic card #5 right now.
Experiment One is great, and Boros Charm is completely insane. I'm super stoked to have those two cards in my cube.
I thought it was monday before the prerelease.

Yeah, but it's only really interesting for those that support green aggro. Else it's just mediocre as well.

Sweet, then we don't have to wait long to get the true measure of this set.
Not even Crypt Ghast? It's my favorite card spoiled so far slightly above Boros Charm.

Agreed (on the second point). It's super sick. We may yet test the Ghast.

Then again, we're still mad that Elvish Archer doesn't have reach so perhaps we are too strict on these matters.
