What is everyone's take on Fog effects? Granted, the one-offs like Fog and its Black and White counterparts are rather weak, but cards like Moment's Peace, Constant Mists, Tangle, etc can often be blowouts against aggro strategies. I run Moment's Peace in my Cube, and it has been used to somewhat good effect, but the only other 'Fog' effect I see run in other Cubes are Kor Haven and Maze of Ith. Unsurprisingly, they are lands, so there's some synergy with a few other cards
Too situational? too boring? More often than not, I'd understand that they end up in sideboards
It feel like one of those card-type that is more dependant on builder's preferences and not so much on the actual value of it. Some like to run one or a few, and some find them to be a waste of a card slot. Personally I like to have one copy of a fog effect in all of my cubes, but I often simply do not have the necessary space to do so.
As pure fog-effect goes, Constant Mists and Moment's Peace are probably the best ones because of the Buyback and Flashback. That being said, I've been really impressed with Terrifying Presence. I run it in my Winston Pauper Cube, and it's usually removal+fog. I'm actually thinking of adding it to my Modern Cube. It's surprisingly good.
Another decent fog effect is Spike Weaver. It's probably not good enough for most cubes these days, but it combines the ability to fog multiple times with pros and cons of being a creature.
I like Moment's Peace and Constant Mists ok. Constant Mists can get a little oppressive against an aggro or midrange deck out of another midrange deck or a control/ramp deck so I like it a lot less than Moment's Peace for balance reasons. If I was playing some kinda Gx ramp/midrange deck and saw either in somebody's cube I would snap them up pretty early.

I'm going to be testing Moment's Peace this week. Not sure what to cut for it though.

Constant Mists can be really powerful, especially when combined with Loam and Crucible. I ended up cutting it from the cube because the effect wasn't typically what I wanted to be doing with Green unless I had a way to combo it with something. Fog effects can randomly be blow-outs, but they can also often be cards you really wish was something that could advance your board instead.
Moment's Peace is Pauper awesomeness, and actually translates fairly well into a regular cube as there are a lot more fast treats and Planeswalkers to protect. The double fog is nice, but really it does nothing but buy you some turns, which might be what you want to do in Green uber-ramp if you need to stop the crazy onslaught of creatures in order to drop some insane bomb that will deal with the board when you have the mana. In most other archetypes, it's just not worth it, except in the Planeswalker deck.
Constant Mists is an odd one because if used right it will just lock your opponent out of the game. If you want some sort of Moat-esque card in green, this would be the default option. Green doesn't need it that badly, but if you want to run that kind of thing, it is certainly powerful enough, especially with Planeswalkers, allowing you to just tick them up each turn at the cost of one land. There aren't too many non-counterspell cards that can deal with a spell based soft lock.
All the other fogs are really just not worth it, either requiring too much set up, or are just underpowered. I wouldn't even play them in pauper, if that means anything.
I agree that Moment's Peace and Constant Mists are the strongest fog effects listed. My cube is a pauper cube that I try to keep based on combat and combat tricks. In my opinion, after those two cards have been played the first time, they gain value but lose fun. You're opponent has the information, and my preference on fog plays is surprise-blow-outs. That being said, holy day best represents its color in a damage prevention trick, and that's what I run in my cube.
There is also Spore Frog, which can combo with Genesis. Both it and Constant Mists were in the early versions of my cube. After a few fog locks both got cut mainly because of the unfun factor (and to better support ramp).
I liked the Frog more in cube because creature based decks had a better chance to deal with the lock, and it was a creature if really needed. There were quite a few end of turn removal on the frog to be able to swing for the win next turn. However, the Frog never really got played without a way to abuse it. Which made it play like a combo card where the combo didn't advance the game.
Mists on the other hand got played more often without having the support to abuse it. 1 or 2 buybacks was usually enough to stablize.
If I were to add a fog effect back I think I'd try a variant like Terrifying Presence.
Another vote for Moment's Peace here. Flashback is always great.
I also run Dawn Charm in my Pauper Cube, but I don't know whether the other two modes or the flexibility would enable it to compete in a fully-powered Cube. But it's gotta be better than vanilla Fog, Holy Day, or Darkness at least.

Constant Mists is an uncommon. So it is a no-go in pauper. Otherwise I would already be running the hell out of it.
The problem with one off fogs is often they are dead cards, or only in effect gain you a bit of life. Hence they are mostly just a dead card, or at least advance your board in no way, not something I would want to go near in almost any deck, but as soon as you are getting more than one use out of the fog effect then it is good. Thus I like Constant Mists and Moment's Peace, and nothing else.

I forgot about Dawn Charm. In pauper it's on the lower end of playability. I played it for a little bit, but I found all it's effects really narrow and underwhelming. I would prefer to play something like Embolden, which is kind of like Moment's Peace 2.0 for Pauper, but at the same time so very different.
Dawn Charm is worth mentioning here as it does exist, but faaaar too underpowered, although I like it more than Holy Day which doesn't say much.
