I like it but it seems like it could lead to some disappointing games where you drop a turn 1 Jack in the Mox, take 5 damage and lose the game because of it, but I guess that's the point since of its crazy upside.
Anyone playing it have feedback on how much mana it usually gets? I would like to think 2-3 before it explodes, hopefully on colour once. Is this the case?
Think I'm gonna grab my 3 UNincluded cards next time I'm buying and try them all out. Maybe bench hacker until I get a few more walkers.
I run Booster Tutor and Jack-in-the-Mox in my unpowered 540 and both have been stellar. I used to run Blast from the Past and City of Ass but feel that they don't bring enough to the table. Never considered Magical Hacker... very interesting.
Hacker is pretty sweet. It's definitely a no-middle-ground best-or-worst card, but when it's winning games literally out of nowhere you can see the power it brings to the table.
If your format can afford decks that have ETB tapped lands, it can afford a City of Ass. Non-Painful cities are so good, and Ass is such a great card for 3+ colored decks.

I've been running it for so long I forget its an Un-card. It's also great in two colour control decks. It even produces an extra mana with Ral Zarek, etc.
When deck building I tend to think of hacker as: 1UU
Sorcery
Ultimate a planeswalker you control. Next turn ultimate that planeswalker again.
It's earned a kill on sight reputation amongst my group so it rarly survives a turn, but even if it doesn't you walker can just ultimate again the next turn. It will win you games and also let you use expensive ultimates that you rarely get to see otherwise.
I recently added oath of nissa, her and hacker are going to be the best of friends in some 5c superfriends decks.
I also tried out Greater Morphling, Staying Power, Uktabi Kong (with three other apes + one shapeshifter in the cube), My First Tome and Magical Hacker. While the others were just unpopular picks, the hacker was much hated and only stayed in the cube for one draft. The guy who drafted him was bored after two decisive victories with planeswalker utlimates and his opponents had just a miserable time. I can see him as valuable choice in more powerful cubes, but he was too much for mine.
The thing I hate about Rare-B-Gone is that sometimes you're getting smoked by a Kitchen Finks and a Qasali Pridemage or one of the many combinations of U/C cards and then you feel like a chump. The card is too uncontrollably swingy for my liking.
Yeah I had it (Rare-B-Gone) in my cube for little while, but ultimately it wasn't really what I wanted. Sometimes it would do literally nothing, and other times it was unbeatable. One of the swingiest cards there is. For reference my cube doesn't run Mind Twist and Armageddon though.
