Question: Did 1/2 mana used to burn you 1/2 points of life or did they just not care about balancing the Un- cards? Rainbow land that comes into play tapped with no other drawback seems much too powerful.
It used to. That's why it's so good in the cube.
Also, it can be fun to Devil's Play someone for 5 1/2 damage, and then flash it back for 3 1/2 damage when they only had 9 life left.
Mox Lotus is meh, you need another card to cheat it in then a third card to utilize the mana. Gleemax could be interesting since it can really control the game on its own once in play. Mise is unfortunately pretty useless most of the time in most cubes. There are some great silver-bordered cards though like Booster Tutor, Gifts Given, Magical Hacker, Enter the Dungeon, etc maybe even Johnny, Combo Player.
I've plugged it elsewhere, but Topsy Turvy is my single favorite magic card. I've had to cut it from my cube because my group couldn't handle the awesomeness, but I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind having to pay attention to the game.
I'm currently running 6 un cards: Once More with Feeling, Booster Tutor, Blast from the Past, Incoming!, Ach! Hans, Run!, and Jack-in-the-Mox. Once More with Feeling is a real bomb, but it's not easy to build a deck that can cast it. Ach! Hans, Run! is an experimental inclusion to support fatties. Incoming! just ends games in hilarious fashion. Not always with a win, but it still ends games.
I'm still running Booster Tutor and Frazzled Editor. Ravenous Death-Parrot was in my cube until I stopped supporting Blue aggro
Had Blast from the Past in there for a long time. It was fun to play, but eventually not powerful enough. Gifts Given was also in there but it was a card ppl really loved or really hated, so I also cut it. Another card we had in there was Richard Garfield, Ph.D. which just never really worked out.

I have a hard time believing 1RR for deal 2 damage and draw a card is not powerful enough for cube. In addition to all the other ways you can play that card.
Yeah for real, blast is awesome. It has, like, 18 trillion modes and is pretty much a regular magic card in terms of the doing-absurd-***** parameters that unhinged cards are graded on.
Blast is one of the best Un-cards in my opinion. Mono-red spells just doesn't get competitive burn + card draw spells (outside of Izzet with blue). It is in my Conspiracy module as the red card.
On this topic, I'd like to ask which you think is best for the white spot? Staying Power or Once More with Feeling?
I wouldn't run either, but I feel like Once More With Feeling is easier to abuse despite the insane cost.
To be clear, we don't run Conspiracy/Un-cards in our normal drafts, but only include this section when we want to try something different. So I wouldn't run them under normal circumstances either .

We run un-cards and I still wouldn't run either. Staying power seems too inconsistent (but I could be wrong there) and WWWW seems like a nightmare.
That being said, I would totally try to make the Once More With Feeling deck if it was ran in someone else's cube, because it seems awesome.

I think both of the cards are very limited in what they do, but also very powerful in the decks they go in to.
Once More With Feeling is great in a mono-white aggro deck.
Staying Power is obviously good with all the 'until EOT' cards, and literally broken with a few cards. Pair it with Yawgmoth's Will, Soulfire Grand Master or Boros Charm and you're in for a good ride . Honorable mentions: Sarkhan Vol, Mother of Runes, Massacre Wurm, Whisperwood Elemental, Channel. However sometimes the card just does nothing (or maybe even helps the opponent).
I would stay away from Staying Power because of the "rule" headaches. It's not entirely clear what it does and does not apply to. SGM for example - it's not a continuous effect with a duration, which is probably what was meant, but it does have a duration. Players are not all going to have the same understanding of what the card does, which is bad when there is no "real" answer.
Once More With Feeling has been great for us in white-heavy aggro. It's also one of the best payoffs for Worldknit or Unexpected Potential.
As a white Un-Card, we are right now trying Cheap Ass and play it like it reduces mana cost by 1 instead of 1/2. It has been a fine midrange and ontrol card so far. Pretty solid.

Why not use the text as is and only reduce mana costs by 1/2. You'd just have to play 2 spells to get the reduced cost. Is it not good enough then?
Blast From the Past is the nutz. 1RR, instant, deal 2 damage and draw a card. With flashback that's cheaper and better than a Firebolt in the 'yard. And that's at a minimum, assuming you're not flooded. Crazy good.

Not quite as good at all. That's why we use a home house errata rule for it.
I have enjoyed them all a lot, and besides BftP they do something super unique.
Blast from the Past just has so many options that its always useful for something.
Booster Tutoralmost feels like something they could include in a conspiracy set since they printed Lore Seeker. Nothing beats booster tutoring and finding that counter you desperately needed or hitting that on colour gold card you didn't see in the draft. My group like tutor a lot and it makes for interesting games and table discussion (we let people show the booster and ask advice).
Magical Hacker is fun but his usefulness varies wildly, he is either game winningly broken or unplayable. I want 2 walkers in each colour and a few more in gold, so he will probably keep his place until he becomes too abused.
I intend to add Topsy Turvey at some point and see how it goes, its seems like an interesting card that (like magical hacker) plays with the rules of magic itself. Staying Power seems like a lot of fun but i don't know if I have enough cards to make the most of it.
I have been considering Jack-in-the-Mox, anyone have any feeling on it?
Incoming! is another card I would consider as it looks like it makes for fun/silly plays.

Thinking about finally putting together a more traditional cube.
(So far I've only played the Ravnica Themed Cube in my sig.)
Re-visiting old ideas. I'm still interested in including Unglued/Unhinged cards.
One card I'm eyeing in particular is Mox Lotus. Seems like it might be fun with play with Tinker, Goblin Welder, Show and Tell, etc.
Has anyone had any success with this?
