I'm still very much on the fence of adding back Sunweb, its just been a really fun card back from the old cube. Sadly it does sit RIGHT in the mid range choice of cards. Maybe more of a pet card.
Pulse of the Forge suffers of course from the removal of mana burn, and got cut. Pulse of the Fields was fantastic for W/x control decks to just stay in the game almost indefinitely (or so it felt sometimes) against more aggressive decks. It's definitely good enough to see play in those sorts of decks, but whether it's an effect you want in your cube is something you'll have to think about. I cut it for the reason that I don't like to have too many cards that are there to just slow the game down. I don't run Moat, Constant Mists etc for the same reason. I do run Wall of Denial though so sue me.
I think it's a great card for bigger cubes. I'd play it at the 540-630 range, probably. It's a fine 2-drop; it just doesn't compete in the smaller green sections.
I've found Pulse of the Forge to be a great tool against planeswalkers, which is nice in red.
I've played Pulse in constructed many times, but I quashed any thoughts of including Pulse of the Forge once mana burn was removed...
...I didn't even consider hitting planeswalkers with it. I'm impressed, and if I felt red needed more help vs planeswalkers this is a nice card that also can equalize a game in which you are behind.
Just want to report that Sorin's Vengeance has been bone-crushingly powerful since we added it about a month ago. It is many orders of magnitude better than it is on paper and highly recommend people test it. Really.

How has it usually been used/what kind of decks usually ran it?

The other cube that we use in my area has had it in for a month or two as well, and it has most certainly seen play and led to some victories. I'm always on the fence about adding it since it's just at such an awkward place on the curve for a lot of decks that want it, but I could certainly be persuaded to find room for it if players here wanted it in my cube as well.

If you're running any B-based control or mid-rangey black deck, Vengeance is a must. Really, if you're a deck that can get to 7 mana and cast Vengeance, you play it.
It is definitely the most swingy card in the cube aside from probably Balance (unpowered). Seeing is believing.

I think Vengeance would lend itself well to your list and environment. Does your group have an opinion one way or the other?
So I don't know why I forgot to mention this earlier, but the BEST dark horse card in my Cube is easily Shaper Parasite. Why aren't people running this guy??? He is so good in so many decks!
I guess it's because I'm running a 720 unpowered, but he fits perfectly into my curve and my list.
Interesting...I'll ponder finding a spot in my cube to test it out. I think I had it in my cube a few years ago, but the cube is significantly changed now so I expect it would play much differently this go-around.
Kenny, glad to hear you might test it. I stole a lot of ideas from your list to make my Cube
Has anyone played around with Iwamori of the Open Fist? I am trying to exchange one green fatty for a beater that is more mana efficient, and that card looks interesting. I have around 7 legendary creatures in the 720 Cube (one being 8 1/2 tails...); I just don't want a gimmicky card that says "if they have one of 6 cards in their hand, you lose. Otherwise, you get an undercosted beater." That is almost what it means to me... I'm thinking Hystrodon could be more interesting? Any experiences with this card? Sorry for all the questions, guys.

Neither of those guys really caught on here when I had them in, despite me trying to push Iwamori because I just like the card. Green has nearly infinite four-drops of quality to pick and choose from, so if that is the slot you are looking to fill you can certainly play around with any number of different options to see which ones see play with people you cube with.

Iwamori of the Open Fist: Too much downside for not enough upside. I don't think I would play it as a 6/6 either, but a 7/7 would definitely deserve a shot (hear that wizards?).

I'm always open to suggestions on how to improve my cube. Take a look and ask a question, or give a constructive critique whenever you can.

Bellowing Tanglewurm has led to several blowouts since, at least in my playgroup, most of us tap out on turn four on the draw.
[c]Nest invader has been great for us too!

It's also a great card for C/U cubes.

As stated above, though, there is too much competition in that slot for small-medium sized cubes.
