I wasn't a fan of this at first, but that 6 damage is quite a bit. Losing 1/3rd of your health to remove it isn't pretty. Could be an interesting Tinker target for more budget cubes I think. Its basically unblockable early game if you tinker it out.

Rest in RIP My Signature, I guess. 2015-2016, we hardly knew ye.
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
Could be an interesting Tinker target for more budget cubes I think. Its basically unblockable early game if you tinker it out.
I agree, and I just added Tinker to my cube so I'm really happy to see this. I like this a lot better than Soul of New Phyrexia, its evasion and death trigger make it a much better finisher. I'll be trying this out as a budget replacement for Wurmcoil Engine.

It's not really a finisher for a control deck, since your opponent often won't care about the death trigger.
It's also not really a curve-topper for aggro, since six mana is too much.
In Tinker/artifacts.dec it could be ok, but even there it sort of straddles the line between Tinker target (pretty weak) and threat to accelerate out (pretty expensive).
I'm not interested in this card, and I think that Soul of New Phyrexia is quite a bit better. At least once you untap with that thing on the battlefield, you're in a good position to win most games, which isn't really true for this robot.

While this is a good card, I think this is worse than any of the 6+ drops I already have in my 450 cube.
I imagine some would want to replace Triskelion with either of the new artifact 6 drops, which seems reasonable. Both of these new ones are really efficient.
In my artifact cube, this is an auto include to gather with Soul of NPH.
Wurmcoil is still the king of colorless 6 drops. I like both of the new guys more than the Trike unless you are supporting some combos.
This guy most reminds me of Kokusho, a card that is no longer making most lists, but did good work for years, and colorless doesn't get as many options. I think where it fails, is when you are behind. I would love to ramp this out and berserk it all over the place, or drop it in with sneak attack.
For me it comes up just short. My targets that are primarily for cheating are bigger and badder, and this guy is missing about one ability from getting a run in my cube.
I think it's pretty neat. Larger cubes can decide between Scutting Doom Engine or Soul of New Phyrexia as their additional big 6cc artifact duder. The Doom Engine evades chump blockers and has a nasty death trigger, and the Soul has trample and an (albeit overcosted) indestructibility shield. Doom Engine is better if it's removed right away or is used as part of a Welder/Nightmare trigger deck, and Soul is better if you untap with it. Interesting that we got both at the same time.
I like this more than the Soul of New Phyrexia. I'm of the opinion that 6+ drop in cube need to past vindicate test. That said, a 360 doesn't need either one though.
I wanted one more artifact 6- or 7-drop for my cube and now I got two candidates in the same set? Typical.
It is really hard to say which one is better. This one is probably better at killing planeswalkers: Most walkers that produce tokens only make 1/1s or 2/2s which Scuttling Doom Engine completely ignores and most removal triggers enough direct damage to kill most walkers. It is also noteworthy that deathtouch is usually only on small creatures with 1 or 2 power. However, trample is generally a bit better as far as evasion goes and Soul of New Phyrexia works better with a team (of creatures). Plus, it has awesome art. Maybe I just cut Triskelion and try out both new guys.

This guy is another good artifact guy at 6 mana though, glad Wizards is printing efficient colorless dudes.
