The art is just so-so IMO. I wish the creature has a more aggressive/attacking pose to better reflect the mechanic.
I like it when we still get common staples for cube. Makes it practically free to upgrade the cube. Plus, it upgrades both my pauper cube and unpowered cube.
I think this is the first cubeable card from the set. I'll probably run her.
I think Reclamation Sage and Goblin Rabblemaster are both quite a bit better. Don't underestimate Rabblemaster. It outpaces pretty much every other cube 3-drop in terms of raw damage output, and it also contributes to Pox/Stax decks and token decks. It's a slam-dunk, IMO.

To be fair, it's a lot more ridiculous that she is wearing plate armor but somehow isn't wearing a helmet.
Since that's, like, always the first piece of armor you would acquire if you cared about surviving a battle. But I suppose male fantasy characters are equally guilty of that. You would really think she'd have learned her lesson after losing(?) an eye, though.
Still, I think this is a grade above a lot of characters in "chainmail bikinis." (Which, I had always taken the term literally to refer to swimsuit-style chain armor.)
Not to mention the garment she's wearing under her breastplate could be a coat of plates, a brigandine, a gambeson, or be worn over some sort of chain vest. All of which were things people historically wore with/without armor over them.
...anyways, I think the card is solid. I think it's just about strictly better than Gore-house Chainwalker. I also think it's unlikely we'll see a "pushed" 1R creature at uncommon or rare given the "complexity" of this card (triggers, numbers, "omg how will teh noobs deal with this informations?!") at common compared to a RR 2/2 creature with first strike and haste.
This thread reminds of the Mana Confluence thread.
It seems it always happens when a card is printed that's not revolutionary, but obviously playable: the discussion quickly turns to artwork or other side-issues.
Anyway, my current plan is to keep Gore-House Chainwalker for now, and instead cut Reckless Reveler for the Marauder.
I'd probably be inclined to cut Reckless Reveler or some other red two drop with 2 power before the Chainwalker, too. Especially if you don't have moxen or other especially potent, quick-to-come-down artifacts.

Yeah, pretty much. Everyone is just like, "Oh cool, yeah I'll run this. What else is there to talk about on this thing?"
I'm well aware of the general issue regarding "female armor" and what not but not once have I heard "Chainmail Bikini" used in any other fashion other than to be rather literal (i.e. used to describe the most egregious of examples). I guess that exact phrase is common? My bad then. Still, seems like a bad idea to use it when you aren't talking about actual/near-actual bikinis. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is "completely contextually appropriate" and 10 is "oh for ****s sake" this is like a 3? (Especially considering she isn't a soldier or knight but rather a warrior/barbarian)
No love for Reclamation Sage?

Me too. Not one of my favorite SMF pieces to say the least. Hopefully the huge off-center void in the art will look good in foil.

Cool it man, I think the point came through loud and clear, no need to nit pick.
It's a term that encompasses any ridiculous skin bearing "armor" put on a female warrior in a fantasy setting.
Since that's, like, always the first piece of armor you would acquire if you cared about surviving a battle. But I suppose male fantasy characters are equally guilty of that. You would really think she'd have learned her lesson after losing(?) an eye, though.

Tbh I forgot about her, yes I'll probably play her too. I don't like Goblin Rabblemaster though.
