3 toughness on a 2-power one drop is pretty huge. It dodges a decent amount of removal (Arc Trail, Fire//Ice, Forked Bolt, Burst Lightning unkicked, Pyroclasm, Infest effects, Disfigure, etc). An expensive mana sink is not quite as good.
Add that to the fact that Selesnya is mad deep and has several other 1-drops specific to its section (Dryad Militant, Wild Nacatl), and I don't think this makes the cut unless you're fairly large and really pushing GW aggro.
Also ew Mythicspoiler. Sunblade Elf should be on our spoiler already and thus autocarded.

Because G/W totally need another awesome card. There's too much stack of them already. I don't think he's in top 5, and I'm not even sure about top 10.

Yeah, it's amazing isn't it? I feel like 3-4 years ago, this would probably have been an auto-include. So much competition for GW efficient creatures now.
I do think he's better than loam lion, but we're not running loam lion already. I think this is a pass.
I would love this guy with Loam Lion, and I would think about adding this guy with the lion and militant and wild cat to create a good redundancy there. My cube would rather have Avacyn's Pilgrim into Mirari's Wake....
Loam Lion is slightly better. The 3rd point of toughness is really good in the first few turns. Sunblade Elf on the other hand better if you topdeck it later. Maybe I find a way to make room for both of them...
The difference between Loam Lion and Sunblade Elf probably hinges more on which color is primary in your deck, since being able to play your 1-drops on turn one is generally more important than triggering the bonus. A deck with more forests probably wants the elf and vice versa with the cat.
This guy isnt as good as Loam Lion imo. The 3 toughness is huge in any type of aggro mirror. And aggro decks are more likely to be base white than base green.
Definitely way better than Loam Lion, which shouldn't be in cubes in the first place. This is the kind of card that has several applications to different archetypes and is good in many different stages of the game, which just can't be said for kird kitty.
I think one thing to think about is how often you are white based aggro splashing green and how often you are green based splashing white. One problem I have come across with Loam Lion is having not enough forests to turn him on consistently.
Rather a 2/3 for 1 than a 2/2 for 1. Fixing is pretty much good enough (or should be) that you can reliably start a game with the land you need to switch on either, or go get it with a fetch or some such. It's OK, but I would run Lion first unquestionably.
Just to follow up, this guy has been awesome. Being base green stats has come up more often then you would assume as my aggro decks are usually W/g with the green mana sometimes coming from Horizon Canopy or Gemstone Mine instead of a forest. Also, the anthem effect is a pain in the ass to play around as late game it can really mess with the combat math. It has been a little annoying to not have the 3 toughness but I would rather the elf over the lion still.
Any chance this is better than Loam Lion? I like the pump effect.
