Spiritsbond
1 W
Enchantment
Whenever a nontoken creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may pay W. If you do, but a 1/1 white Spirit creature token with flying into play.
1W, sacrifice a Spirit: Target non-spirit creature you control is indestructible until end of turn.
This card seems powerful. Two reusable effects that work with each other. It's probably not a drop on curve for an aggro deck, but sometime around 4-5 mana, your early drops that you still have in hand come with more reach. It plays well with lingering souls and spectral procession. This compliments a token deck, though it's somewhat at odds with token generating spells taking the place of actual creatures.
Mentor of the Meek had a similar concept - slowing down your curve for additional benefit and I found that too obtrusive for even drawing a card. I like this one though - probably will find room at 600. Thoughts?
If this cost a colorless to create a 1/1 it would be much more attractive. As is, I'm not excited about it. 1W + sacrificing a spirit is a deceptively large cost to pay to save one of your creatures. If it were non-spirits instead of non-tokens I could see it in the anthem/token deck.
I'd probably test it at 540+ but wouldn't expect 450 or 360 cubes to give it a shot.
540's are pretty tight these days Colby. I don't think this even comes into play until the 720+ range, though thats only based on my experience with cubes ranging from 360-500. It wants to be played in decks with lots of creatures, but not fast ones, because they dont need to play a do nothing spell on turn 2 that slows their curve down for each turn after that to get value out of it. At least Mentor of the Meek could attack.
EDIT: Actually thinking about it, I don't think I'd cube this at all unless it was a very midrangey/grindy cube, no matter the size.

You're probably right then, we haven't cubed at 540 in some time and I was just guesstimating.
It's been in my cube, but it hasn't seen much play yet. It's kind of like Luminarch Ascension-lite in a slower Multiplayer cube, so I imagine someone's going to take a chance on it soon... but it doesn't get decked a heap.
We played it for a little while in my friend's cube that was more focused on tokens and it was not that good. Too often you need to do a lot of work for very little pay off.
