Agree that its not a good cost for competitive cubes but first strike+deathtouch is a ridiculously powerful combination so I know we will play it at some point. Compare to Voracious Cobra or Glissa the Traitor and you can see that its pretty bad.
Its two closest comparisons might actually be Nirkana Cutthroat and Pestilent Kathari.
(as you can see, we like our "death strikers" around here)
The threat of activation and hexproof is likely enough to make it a good card and maybe worth cubing in larger lists. The card is a great design nevertheless. I think it's great in lower powered cubes or custom draft "cubes".
not worth three mana. Would have had to cost 1B and that ability B to be cubable IMO. Or have some sort of evasion.
I probably wouldn't play it in my 360 powered even if these were the costs. I don't want to have to leave B up all turn to give it pseudo-unblockability. It would be better on defense, but that's not really what I want out of a 2 mana 2/1.
I'd rather run Nezumi Cutthroat over this hypothetical card, and that's not making the cut for me.
This is nasty in Limited but not costed nearly aggressively enough for Constructed or Cube, despite the powerful synergy between those abilities.
Even if you get a 2 for 1 with it (your opponent attacks with something, you block and first strike/deathtouch it down, then post-combat they hit it with the sorcery speed removal they were holding) that's far from a blowout. And if they have instant removal, you get hosed hard - your 3 mana and 4 mana investment trades for a mere Lightning Strike.
2B
Human Assassin
Hexproof
3B: Until end of turn, ~ loses hexproof and gains deathtouch and first strike
2/1
Probably too underpowered/overpriced, but it still seems like a decent option for Bx control strategies. Thoughts?
