I dont think a thread has been started on this guy. He seems like a decent red 3 drop. The bestow cost is fairly aggressive, and at worst hes a 2 mana 2/2. I am probably going to give him a try. Thoughts?
I think a couple years ago this guy might be enough. Most of the time you will wait till turn 3 and pump your 1 and 2 drop. It is pseudo haste and removal resilience. In a common/uncommon cube I would be all over it. And 3 drops for read aren't great or aggressive. If you are in an unpowered cube, possibly without swords, you might replace a vandal with this guy.
And there will be the corner case you drop it on an annoying blocker to force it to attack.
Seems good. I like him in larger cubes. Might even be strong enough for mid-high sized cube.
Almost always want to bestow him, but 3 mana for +2/+2 buff that creates a bad grizzly bear if answered is solid.
There are some hypothetical scenarios that I would chose not to bestow him that having another option provides value to the card.
Not that I think he's anything special, just think his competition is less than stellar.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking, red has poor 3 drops, hes at least a consideration in 540+.
Maybe in really big cubes. I mean, it's really bad as a 2-drop, and the aura mode is a much worse Griffin Guide variant. I think red's 3-drops are pretty good (and we're getting another good one from this set) so I don't think this guy will see play outside of ginormous cubes, or maybe some C/Ubes out there.
I do like the creature though, and he may very well get a mention in my article if we don't get many more cubeworthy cards.
I have no idea why people think that red has poor or few 3-drops. I have a hard time fitting Prophetic Flamespeaker in!
I do agree that a few years ago, I would have certainly included this as a 2-drop, since there were so few cubable ones for 1R. That is no longer a problem though.
Would you run this over the oft-tested-but-quickly-dropped Pyrewild Shaman? I'm still playing that one, and am looking for a switch (and will wait until rotation to grab Prophetic Flamespeaker...)

On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
Shaman has the recursion tho.
