Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
Yea same, I just realized the caster can't make opponents creatures fight each other. I think the card is sweet and really well designed... but I don't see it making into my cube.
I mean, it has the potential to be a one-sided wrath in even board stalls, but I just don't think that happens enough in cube to make it worth it. Cool card though.
It's a much better version of Prey Upon. It's prone to blow-outs, but has an insane upside and is in a color that doesn't have very much good removal. Seems at least plausible to me.

Everyone who says it isn't playable, have you played the current standard? With heroic, This can hit a Phalanx leader, a favored hoplite a centaur battlemaster a staunch-hearted warrior or any number of heroics, which will all then get an additional +1/+1 or more, then they can fight lots of different creatures, and probably kill a lot of them, in a color that doesn't have very much creature control.

Well that's nice and all but this is the cube forum. Nothing on that list is run in any cube I've ever seen. I don't think we've had a single cubeable card with heroic actually.

Hey uh, you might want to check some of your tags. Looks like you put mana tags instead of card tags around those middle ones.

That wasn't a typo, it's the average response required to beat turn one Library of Alexandria in a cube game.
As to the card, it's a very good version of an effect that I've long wanted to play in cube. These effects just typically aren't that strong in this format, though, and this doesn't really do a lot in some matchups. I guess it's pretty broken in the aggro mirror, but most aggro decks really can't afford multiple G. I doubt this will make much impact in most cubes.
Just not there for me in cube. I was looking for a +2/+2 for G to be a team pump, maybe I would try a +1/+1 with prey upon if it didn't tap them. Yuk. One of the best things with a fight mechanic is clearing a blocker to be able to get through.
When Prey Upon was spoiled, I was sad that it wasn't an instant. Now this card is an instant, but it requires the fighting creatures to tap.
On the other hand, this gives a p/t bonus that allows your creatures to survive fights with normally equally-sized creatures. Plus, you can even use the p/t bonus for a normal combat trick or a mini-Overrun without any fighting. And speaking of fighting, being able to let multiple creatures fight can lead to 2-for-1s or even 3-for-1s.
In some decks and match-ups, this card could actually be quite good. Not sure if I would cube it, but I wouldn't rule it out completely.

Am i weird because i like Prey Upon more than this card? And i already think that Prey Upon is fringe playable at best.
I don't want to pay 1 more mana, i don't want to tap the creature and i don't want the card to be useless when my guy has summoning sickness. Is the ability to target multiple creatures worth all those drawbacks when compared to Prey Upon? I don't think so.
It is instant as well, but Prey Upon was common. I always dream that rare/mythic combat tricks will be as pushed as creatures are but I am always wrong.
This card has a lot of potential upside with situations like that Eidolon and it is a really interesting and skill-testing combat trick IMO. It has enough downsides that it might not be great, but it looks fun to play with.

According to the spoiler, the text on this card reads:
Strive - ~ costs G more to cast for each target beyond the first.
Any number of target creatures each get +1/+1 and gain "T: Fight another target creature."
Thoughts?
I don't really think this is playable. If it was +2/+2 maybe. . . but I don't really see many situations where its worthwhile.

Sorry, but this is the Cube forum. Try the Rumor Mill, or the Limited forum.
Mostly, I agree with your comment, it's just off-topic here. This card really isn't going to be played in our Cubes.

Uril, the Miststalker RGW -- Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre C -- Vhati il-Dal BG -- Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer RW -- Animar, Soul of Elements URG
Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker R -- Maga, Traitor to Mortals B -- Ghave, Guru of Spores BGW -- Sliver Hivelord WUBRG
They wouldn't template that way these days though, if anything its just an incomplete translation. I wonder what the true English wording is.

Because 9/10 mechanics are some variant of kicker or multikicker? Devotion is just Chroma, Bloodrush is just Channel, etc.
Its an interesting mechanic that plays well with Heroic.

Not if they are still with summoning sickness.
What I meant was attacking creatures but that is a good point. This can lead to blocking blow-outs.
