I've had this in my cube for awhile and due to the infrequency of drafts happening I have yet to see it in action. After a quick search in this forum I didn't see a topic about it so I'm curious if anyone else has any experience with it. It looks like it has potential for very high upside as a 1 mana tempo card but I'm unsure if it is worth that.

Spell Pierce is already generally omitted, despite being a constructed staple, because it is too narrow in what it targets.
Divert takes that one step further, hitting no artifacts, global enchantments, or Planeswalkers, plus missing a good deal of spells that don't target to begin with.
When it's good (vs Hymn to Tourach or Mind Twist, for example), it's great, but often the card is dead.

It can be a complete blowout for 1 mana, which is nice. It's close to the powerlevel of Misdirection; I wound up slightly preferring the latter because my opponent couldn't pay to stop it, and doing it for free was always a complete surprise. If Divert could target abilities (like Willbender can, for example) it would be higher up on my list. But since it's spell targets only, it makes it pretty narrow.
I run it. It's pretty narrow and situational, but when it's good, it's a freaking BEATING for a single U. I rarely play it game 1, but it's a high-value sideboard card.
Spell Pierce is better than this card, and it's not really amazing. It's just too limiting. I would rather run Negate since I'm actually going to counter 4 mana planeswalkers and whatnot every time.
This card has even more restrictions than Spell Pierce. Sure, it's an absolute blowout whenever it happens, but that's unfortunately not going to be that often.
That being said, this card might be good enough for a cube I'm putting together, but it's going to play a lot differently than most normal cubes, so...

I used to write for MTGS, including Cranial Insertion and cube articles. Good on you if you can find those after the upgrade.
