This thread is mostly looking for feedback from folks who have decided to make conspiracy cards cannon in their cubes. For those of you who are cards with the conspiracy type in your cubes, how do you feel about also including Vanguard cards in your cube? Presumably, they're a part of your normal draft and can be placed (from your "sideboard") in your command zone when setting up the game. I'd reckon players should be limited to one Vanguard card per game.
(I couldn't find a thread discussing Vanguards in this subforum. Sorry if I overlooked it.)
You know most of those are MTGO-only, right (the ones that say "Avatar")? And even the "real" ones (the ones that say "Character", see list below) are oversized card, meaning you can't actually draft them with regular cards.
They'd require a separated draft, or the use of proxies, unlike Conspiracy cards. So I wouldn't try them in Cube, for the same reason I don't cube with Planes or Schemes.

I have a full set of the oversized ones. It's pretty fun to play with them once in a while just to mix things up. Usually we just pick one at random and do a normal booster draft, using that same vanguard throughout the how ever many number of rounds.
One possible issue with mixing them into the cube is that having a Vanguard card would give you huge advantage over someone who didn't, so if you were unlucky and didn't "open" one, you're screwed. Even if someone sees more than one Vanguard, it's probably worthwhile to draft all of them to prevent other people from getting them.
I'd say distribute them somehow before the draft starts, so people can build around their Vanguard if they want.
Similar to Commander, we draft the avatars in a separate draft before the main draft. Some of them are much much more broken than the others, so there is some issues with luck of the draw.

Any opinion on including them in the actual cube/draft?
