It's fair, it's vulnerable to a full round of removal before it does anything for you, and it's still a good amount of mana invested to get your threat. But for larger cubes supporting a fatty-cheating subtheme, this is definitely a playable an option. This and Elvish Piper both are slower and more easily disrupted, but they still (mostly) get the job done when it comes to putting a fat butt to the table. If my cube was any biger than it is now, I'd probably need it to support the archetype fully.
I play this along side Sneak Attack, Natural Order, Show and Tell ,Tooth and Nail, and Shelldock Isle to support our "Kill with Progenitus" theme. Yes, it's eight mana and two turns, but it's often worth those investments to have Blightsteel Colossus or Progenitus out fifth turn. Players usually hold back until their opponent's end step before activating, making attacking into an active Amulet is a difficult proposition (it therefore plays best in U/x decks that can keep up counter magic). Likely not 360-540 material, but for those like me that play 720 its both viable and provides for cool plays.
It's been decent, not great. But what I like about it is the redundancy it gives the fatty deck. While I always love drawing my sneak attack, you need more for consistency. Instant speed is great icing even if it is just silverblade paladin or kira great glass spinner.
I say 450 if you push a fatty theme. It is also a nice budget option with elvish piper for new cubers to try the archetype.
This really isn't the best card in the world, but its a good backup for Tinker, Sneak Attack, Reanimator etc.
Its good if you're looking to provide redundancy.

Quicksilver Amulet has been strong for me as a supplement to the Cheaty Face package. A couple years ago I tested it alongside Arcane Artisan for more cheaty face support. I was expecting to like Artisan / hate Quickilver Amulet, but the opposite ended up happening. I cut Arcane Artisan and kept Quicksilver Amulet and haven't looked back.
One nice trick with Quicksilver Amulet is that you can use it to Channel out a super fatty that you normally wouldn't be able to, like Griselbrand / Archon of Cruelty / Woodfall Primus / etc.
I'm okay with both right now - They're not Breach / Sneak Attack, but they provide redundancy for the artifact, ramp, reanimator deck that may struggle with playables.
I haven't been very comfortable going into these unfair decks that don't have a plan B and could end up with a pile of unplayables (hence i prefer this redundancy)

while it can hit most of the traditional targets Quicksilver would like to hit regardless.
In my experience, those cards generally wouldn't fit in most of the decks where you'd play Quicksilver Amulet. Only about 1/3 of my super fatties are legendary, which isn't enough for me to consider something like Thran Temporal Gateway. I consider Quicksilver Amulet to be the worst Cheaty Face enabler that I play, and Thran Temporal Gateway is much worse.

If you have 8 mana, why are you not casting the fatties in your hand instead?
