Considering I only play 6 tri-colored cards in a 720 cube, I'm guessing we'd run out of relevant cards pretty quickly. Either fudge the criterion to a top 10 or just move on to the overall top 20.
I can't even think of what else I would vote on other than Sphinx of the Steel Wind, Nicol Bolas Planeswalker, and Wild Nactal, and I think two of those fit into other sections.
Not for this year but I think a top 10 Miscellaneous section would be pretty interesting. This could include Un/Conspiracy cards. I know I'd love to see how other people rank the Conspiracy cards. Or maybe a top 5 Un section and a top 10 Conspiracy section (again, next year).
No need for the Shards/Wedges, IMO. There's not many out there who still play the Wedges and even the Shards are losing popularity in some cubes. Let's move on.

I would be thrilled to see a miscellaneous section that included Consiracy and Unserious cards but how many people actually have enough experience to vote on them?
It was perfectly legal to vote for Un- cards in the Power Rankings for this year, and many did. There seemed to be a pretty broad consensus at the beginning that we should wait till next year to vote on everything Conspiracy. I'd imagine that the actual Conspiracies would just be rolled into the colorless section. It'll be interesting to see how cards like Power Play, Aether Searcher and Backup Plan stack up against colorless classics like Library of Alexandria and Batterskull and the like after we've had a year to test and mull things over.

I know this is tangential and premature, but I don't think I've ever passed a Backup Plan or Double Stroke. I'd take a Lotus or something really crazy over them, but they're always the best card in the pack when I've seen them and I'm always super happy I took them over other great things.

We've already discussed this, but Ravages and Armageddon have the exact same wording, mana cost, etc. Burning of Xinye and Wildfire have different rules text, even if they are extremely similar.
Ravages and Armageddon work exactly the same. There is no difference between the two except the name.
Wildfire and Burning have slightly different wordings - one destroys, the other sacrifices. Most of times they work the same, but things like Elspeth's emblem and Sigarda means they can't be counted as the same card.
Other examples: Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse are equal. Wrath of God and Day of Judgment aren't (most cubes run at least Thrun who can regenerate, for example).
Any reason Ravages of war and Armageddon are listed together, however Wildfire and Burning of Xinye are listed separately?
Armageddon and Ravages are exactly the same. Burning and Wildfire are slightly different from each other.
Other than Sigarda--which is probably a debatable GW choice in sections because the color combo is pretty tight--and Boros Charm, what actually makes these cards different? Are ~2 cards enough to make Burning and Wildfire that different? Because they otherwise feel exactly the same, even if you're technically targeting/sacrificing.
There's Boros Charm and Sigarda as you mentioned. Also Elspeth. And the potentially playable Soul of New Phyrexia coming out. Other than that they are largely the same. But they're technically different. And the Boros Charm interaction has shown up quite a bit. Both offensively and defensively. Enough that I'm intimately acquainted with their subtle differences. Also, Wildfire hits all players and Burning only hits one opponent, which makes a big deal in multiplayer formats. Also, Burning targets, so if your group cubes the True Believer types of cards, that also impacts one of the spells and not the other. Anyways, they're different cards, even if those differences are small. And the differences show up in the average cube, which is important to note.
Plus, this isn't 'Nam, Salmo, there are rules. The cards don't have the same text word for word and are technically different. Good enough reason to keep them separate for me.

If you see both Searing Spear and Lightning Strike on the same pack, you can take either because there is no difference.
But if you see both Burning of Xinye and Wildfire, getting one or the other is a strategic decision you need to make. If you already got Boros Charm, you should take BoX. If you didn't, and you know someone else already has the Charm and/ord Elspeth Knight-Errant, you should consider picking Wildfire instead. Even in a vacuum, most cubes run the Charm and Elspeth but not Sigarda, so if you aren't playing white yourself you should pick Wildfire over BoX.
In short, those 2 or 3 cards are enough to make one card a slightly higher pick than the other, instead of them having the exact same place in a ranking.

To be fair, if the Elspeth ultimate is going off, I don't think it really matters which Wildfire variant I have, the person without the emblem is almost definitely losing. I have never seen anyone come back from having the ultimate of Elspeth, Knight-Errant go off against them, as it typically means your Elspeth has been protected the entire time so you have some sort of board presence that takes over when it's indestructible. It's really just Boros Charm and--if you're running it--Sigarda that would effect the decision.
Never assume. If something can happen in a game of magic, it probably will happen. I think the best and most famous example I can think of is the LSV oblivion ring thing. I think its a basic binary thing for the sake of this ranking project. Are the cards exactly the same other than the names: Yes or No? Whether or not you were going to win when Elspeth ultimates doesn't change the answer to that question.

I'm not assuming though--I've never seen anyone come back from an Elspeth ultimate. It's largely irrelevant if you have Wildfire or BoX when the controller of Elspeth has already won the game. And even if it was relevant re: the lands/sacrificing, there is a strong strong chance that there will be creatures out there surviving through the Wildfire effect because they're indestructible. I mean, sure, technically it is different, but in practice it's a moot point and there really shouldn't be much weight put on the Elspeth ultimate going off when determining when one is better than the other because the game is pretty much over. Boros Charm and Sigarda are actual legitimate concerns when weighing the two, but an ultimate that says "I win the game" should be as far back on the list of importance as possible.
If I have to choose between BoX and Wildfire, I'll never consider Elspeth as a cause to choose one or the other because if someone is pulling the ultimate off on me anyways, I'm not winning, no matter if I have Wildfire or BoX.

Is there a need for us to rank the Wedges, or do a Top 20 for the 3+ color group?
If not, I'll be moving onto the Overall Top 20.
Please chime in.
