He attacks unblocked, blocks and dodges Pyroclasm like an indestructible creature and he has hexproof. That's super un-interactive even compared to Geist of Saint Traft or Invisible Stalker. It's arguably less interactive than Mill Jace.
I just don't like that there are so few ways of dealing with it, as a 3 CMC creature. Creatures with Hexproof or Shroud are annoying but ultimately fine, but the fact that this thing is unblockable as an attacker and unkillable as a wall is going too far since it can come down so early. I want those kind of creatures at the top of the curve.

It still dies to every (non-red) sweeper out there, which ALing does not.

That's more cards than I initially thought, but unless you play black or white, you're outta luck. This card basically wrecks RG aggro, and to a certain extent Naya aggro as well since they don't really want to play sweepers.
I dunno; I guess I can be open-minded and just test it. I still hate the name, though
P.S. I'm okay with a control finisher (Aetherling) being nigh unkillable. It's the 3 CMC thing that bothers me about this card.

It is quite strong against red and green, but they can pretty easily go around or through it. By turn three, a red aggro deck can have your opponent fairly low, to the point where an alpha or two plus burn can finish the job. In green or red/green ramp, he does very little to stop Primeval Titan or other large tramplers or just multiple X/4+'s from stomping all over you.

Also Pox and Smallpox can deal with it. And Bane of the Living. And Braids and Smokestack. And Engineered Explosives. And Pernicious Deed. And Ratchet Bomb.
I really don't think the card is of a bannable powerlevel.
Well I wouldn't cube Wall of Denial either, but that card does a better job of blocking, because it has flying and defends you from trample.
Wall of denial doesn't kill anything, meaning you can't drop it and hold off a pair of 2/2s. This thing is basically a moat, as finding productive ways to attack into it on the ground are going to be few and far between.

If one protection creatures totally kills your deck, then your deck has a serious weakness. He can be swarmed, he can be trampled over, you can evade him.
He is a better card then Moat (playable in every blue deck), but Moat is a lot more oppressive.
Will he rule a lot of games? Yes. Will he be super stong? Yes. Will he be an auto-win? No.
But the nice thing about cube is that we can all make our own choices and then keep debating them over here;)

Sounds more like a good reason not to play Wall of Denial.
Luckily, this card is good because it doesn't have defender, so we don't have to worry about speculating about a theoretical 3cc wall.
And no, it's not a Moat. Your opponent can still attack you. They can swarm it, trample over it, use pro:blue Swords to skirt around it, evade it with shadow/fear in addition to being able to use flying creatures ...this creature is good because it's an unblockable threat.
My rules fu has become kinda rusty, but in order to trample over a creature, don't you need to assign lethal damage to it first? Which you can't, if the blocking creature has protection from you.
Still the point stands I guess, it's a superb creature but by no means an auto-win. Just wanted confirmation on this point.

So much so we had some discussion about whether or not it was format busting good. I think if this card was in a hard aggro colour it might be, but in blue it allows me to justify a whole archetype.
We will see as time goes on, but it was very rare that I lost when I played it. But it can be raced, especially by baneslayer.....
I'm not too sure what it means either... I mean, aren't there a lot of other cube staples that are 'uninteractive'?

In my 300 Cube, those cards would be:
And potentially,
Gideon Jura delays him.

Some other playable cards that deal with him are:
Diabolic Edict (Chainer's Edict, Geth's Verdict, Butcher of Malakir, Innocent Blood, Fleshbag Marauder)
Infest (and any other -X/-X sweepers you might run like Massacre or Mutilate)
Terminus and other wraths

I cube with Wall of Denial, and this a very reasonable alternative to it.

Scary thing is I think this is an understatement because Progenitus can't pick up equipment.
If you're R/G I guess you hope they equip him with a Grafted Wargear?

No. Since you cast Wildfire, you control the source of the damage.
