Identity Nemesis1UU
Creature - Merfolk Rogue
As Identity Nemesis enters the battlefield, choose a player.
Identity Nemesis has protection from the chosen player. (This creature can't be blocked, targeted, damaged or enchanted by sources controlled by that player.)

HEYOOO. Looks like our first cube staple, and a contender in Legacy too.
Protection from all of their spells and all of the permanents they control? Would that also stop their Earthquake damage from killing it and stuff too? I mean, they control their spells on the stack, ya?

To clarify potential confusion:
It can't be targeted (no Terror effects).
Damage is prevented (so no Pyroclasm or Earthquake effects).
The only way to get rid of it is edicts and sweepers.
Can it be killed while the ability is on the stack, or is the "as ~ enters the battlefield" worded in such a way that it's never in play without protection?
It has the same rules text as Iona, Shield of Emeria. The player will be chosen before the creature enters the battlefield, so it will already be too late.
Color me confused. Did they not learn from Invisible Stalker? I get that in multiplayer, that card is not that big a deal, I guess the idea is to convince someone else to kill it. But in 1vs1 it is so very non-interactive that it almost hurts. I thought the main idea behind increasing creature power level at the cost of spells was to create more interaction?
Anyway, looks like an upgrade to my Invisible Stalker, even if it costs an additional U.
Based on power level alone is has to be a snap include for all but the smallest Cubes right? However, the card is OBNOXIOUS. Like Invisible Stalker on roids, crack AND speed. I can imagine alot of playgroups would find the card super unfun. People should be careful before slamming the card into their Cubes.
So counterspells, edicts and global -X/-X or destroy/exile effects are your lot for dealing with this guy? S/He's very, very good, but I think there are just enough answers that he is acceptably "dealable with" to not make him ultra un-fun.
card is insane. id say snap cube in anything but 360 powered lists. it is anotber 3cc control finisher along side clique and geist. also very strong in U/x tempo builds. The more I think about it, the more broken I think it is...
This is one of the best creatures ever printed. I don't know if I'd call it a mistake, since it's only legal in formats defined by mistakes. They may well know what they did. But this thing is just ****ed up.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
Looks like another reason to swamp Shadowborn Demon for Massacre Wurm. Of course I'll probably be dead before I can cast the Wurm, but needs the answers...
Does actually seem really fun in Multiplayer Commander. They are really pushing the politics design space, which is super cool.

QFT! Blue is already broken; now it gets a truly broken aggressive three drop.
Do we even need to discuss this? The card is amazing, and is an absolute 360 staple. For those of us who support blue tempo, he is even better! If this was the only thing to come out of the new set, it would still be huge for cube!
I just can't believe they took Invisible Stalker, gave it the crucial 3 power for 1 more mana and then let it brickwall ground creatures too. Brutally strong on both offense and defense.
Red and green just **** the bed in my cube... I realised they have a total of zero cards that can deal with this creature. Maybe we need Meekstone on a beater or something.
However, this seems like a huge FU, when it comes into play, green has no answer, red has no answer, black has 2-5 answers, white has 2-5 answers, blue has no problem with it before it hits.
I'm on the fence atm, if anybody tests this i want to know what the opponent of the card says.
this card does it all. great aggro/tempo card. with some equipment it makes a good control/midrange card.
every other "broken" card can be dealt with in more ways.

This card scares me.
