Ya, maybe so. The Selesnya section in the cube is just so deep though, I can't imagine how big my WG section would need to be before I'd include it.
Let's see:
According to the top 20 thread, here's Selesnya
1 Kitchen Finks - 9.6
2 Qasali Pridemage - 7.8
3 Dryad Militant - 7.3
4 Voice of Resurgence - 7.1
5 Mirari's Wake - 5.3
6 Knight of the Reliquary - 4.4
7 Stirring Wildwood - 3.7
8 Loam Lion - 3.7
9 Armada Wurm - 1.9
10 Sigarda, Host of Herons - 1.4
Let's assume he's about on level with Loam Lion. If you have color non-intensive hybrids take away half a card from either section rather than taking up a Guild Slot, that frees up the #1 and #3 slot. Stirring Wildwood can take a land slot. So that only puts Pridemage, Voice, Wake, and KotR in front of Lion/Sunblade.
So, assuming you run about 1 card per guild per 100, that would put him at 630, assuming Hybrids aren't counted as Gold.
Also, if you're pushing Aggro really hard in the green pairs, I could see a case for including it higher up.
He may be on par with Loam Lion, but that doesn't mean I'd simply include both of them at the same size. Lion is better in hard aggro, and Elf is better for midrange tokens. So I think including one at that size is probably fine, but the other one I might not include until later. Especially given the importance of some of those other cards in a slightly bigger cube. I think it's more a 720-810 card, probably, which means it would just miss my top 20 list (which it did).
But still, you guys are both right. It should've booted out one of the higher ranked cards, because it has a better chance of seeing play in larger cubes than some of the others that were listed. CHeers, and thanks for pointing that out.
This is a sweet list btw, I jut noticed Sunblade Elf was the only card I added to my 720 that was not on your list. I also did not add #13-20 and 2 other cards spattered in there like the red Soul.
If you were to run one of the two, would you prefer the Lion or the Sunblade?
I think it depends on exactly what you expect from it. I think that zoo aggro gets more value from Loam Lion, especially if you see a lot of aggro mirrors (like we do) where the 3rd toughness is a huge deal. But if your token decks are more on the aggro side than the midrange side, the Elf is probably the better choice because it would be playable in more than 1 deck for you.

Ya, like I said above, I probably should've discussed the Elf in the review. Oh well.
However, I think both the white and red souls are definitely good enough for 720. And other cube managers have reported good success from the Doom Engine in cubes smaller than that, FWIW.
Thanks for this article. I often read them go to pre-release/draft and check out the top couple cards and see how they act in a limited environment. Obviously cube is a bit different but it's sort of my cheap-o testing haha. I really liked the top five cards in this with Reclamation Sage being number one. The card is straight up value awesomeness and can't wait to chord into it in standard.
I just wanted to thank you for all the time you put into these because as someone who is not often available to pay attention to magic every week I really enjoy being able to catch up on new sets and see what I should be putting into my cube!
