How about if after the P/P subforum is made that the multiplayer/EDH thread gets stickied in the card discussion forum? There seems to be enough traffic to at least warrant that and if their community continues to grows they can join us in the P/P subforum.
If cube represented a large enough commitment from magic players where it had it's own active forum, I would support this. As it is just a sub forum of a larger magic web site I do not feel it warrents it's own subforum.
We think the Pauper/Peasant community is active and large enough to warrant a subforum. If the subforum turns out not to work out, we'd we willing to revisit our options.
Maybe the title could be "lower rarity cubes" to prevent jargon from undoing what we want?
I'm not a fan of this over "Pauper/Peasant". However, it would not be difficult to add an explanatory subtitle to the subforum saying "Pauper (Commons Only) & Peasant (Commons/Uncommons) Cube Discussion." much the same way as Cube Lists having the subtitle "All cube lists go here." (check out the subtitle directory).
My best advice is to get the new P&P forum up and running but to keep an eye on ways to improve its visibility. Potentially things will need to be changed in the future as more themed ideas become more common. At that point the structure might need to change again.
Advice well received! =D Certainly one of my cheif concerns will be if the subforum succeeds at all, but I have high hopes it will.
The multiplayer community is obviously smaller than the P/P community. However, I'm quite sure having a place to discuss cards separately would help immensely. I for one can't stand mega threads, it's impossible to have a good discussion there.
At this time the Cube Mod Team is not open to adding any more subforums, and my case has already been made to why multiplayer shouldn't be included in this new subforum (isolation without a thriving community is dangerous). A megathread is not a bad idea for a small communitie such as multiplayer, and I am definitely open to whydirt's stickying suggestion:

We do have a test version of the Peasant/Pauper sub however. It's currently set to have tags like [Pauper SCD] to draw distinctions. Is that what you're describing?
oh, I didn't know that. Yes, that is what I would like. How come no one uses those? I don't see anything about them in the Card & Archetype Discussion rules. So long as you can also do MCD and Archetype.
I think Multiplayer and EDH need to stay apart from pauper/peasant cubes. They are more akin to regular cubes than pauper or peasant, and the discussions are absolutely NOT mixable with peasant discussions on a card-by-card basis. This is one of the reasons I think cube type tags could work. Even in a Pauper/Peasant subforum (which I would be happy to try out) there needs to be some visual representation that some discussions are pauper and others are peasant.
I like the idea of a separate subforum. As a cube newbie, I have a lot of theoretical C/ube questions that I want to ask, but don't really like the idea of butting in on whatever conversation is going on in the stickied thread. Also SCD/MCD's are pretty frustrating to look through as little of the discussion is on Peasant, and only intermittently dashed here and there.
Yeah, this idea seems awesome (though I may have been the one to suggest it in the first place? I dunno).
This way we can have SCD threads without making the card and archetype discussion subfora getting needlessly cluttered, and the "superthreads" can keep going but be easier to follow.
Not to sound too pushy, but if we're going to get a subforum it'd be nice if it happened soon since we're in the middle of spoiler season and it'd be cool to have SCD discussions for GTC cards up before we can get our hands on them at the prerelease.

The proposal first came up in internal discussion with quotes from you and LeeLue, yes. =D

Given the support we've seen, it will probably come up soon, possibly in the next few days, probably a little longer to make sure everything works out before implementation.
The subforum sounds good. I can already see the things being moved into there. I assume there'll be an official link to it at some point? Right now you just follow the redirects. I'm glad to see how far this community has grown, and hopefully it'll continue to grow in the future so everyone can have rocking cubes.

Draft it on Cubetutor!
Yeah, probably not yet.
But it's certainly growing and following the same track as Pauper/Peasant...
