That's a very good analogy, I'll skip it, especially considering the power RW has as options...
Ya, RW has better options. Plus, Crater Hellion is already a great card that's easier to cast in one of those colors. It serves the same purpose, and the 6/6 body instead of the 3/3 is easily worth the Echo. Not to mention that it's only one color too.
I am thinking about getting a Kataki, War's Wage for cube. Thoughts?
Seems like a creature that should primarily punish control decks with their Signets and utility artifacts.
It also prevents you from using any aggro-support artifacts (esp equipment) that you may want to use.
When it was in the modern cube, it didn't last very long for that reason. It seemed to hurt my deck(list) more than it impacted my opponent.
Kataki was very bad for me. He'd have to have protection, landwalk or an extra toughness to be Cubeable. He doesn't hose artifacts as strongly as you'd think.
Farseek or Crop Rotation? The argument seems to boil down to "card advantage vs. card quality" respectively.
Neither, if your going to put a card like that in Cube, I would suggest something with greater impact. If you don't already have Kodama's Reach, Krosan Tusker then I suggest those instead.

I'm in the neither camp here.
Unless you are running all 20 true duals in a smallish cube (less than 400). Then I would say Farseek. Actually, Crop Rotation is pretty horrible. What land is worth losing two cards over? LOA? Maze of Ith? Volrath's Stronghold? Seems pretty narrow. To me it's not really a question of farseek vs. rotation but a question of when it's worth it to play farseek.
We started with both in our cube and ended up dropping the twister. So, agreed.
Yeah, it's not a huge huge difference, but the power 9 definitely should be called the power 8.... or sub in Library of Alexandria instead for a permanent crowned spot.
Mana tithe may actually be better since the effect of pay 1 depends so much more on the surprise factor. Which is going to be bigger in white even if everyone knows that you are running tithe and not spike. People just don't play against counters in white.
Brave the Elements - No, too narrow. Emeria Angel - Yes, it's a nice little threat to drop. Gatekeeper of Malakir - Maybe, while I like my ETB spell-like effects, BBB is rough and unsplashable. If black is deep enough to get a mono-focused deck out of then he's great, otherwise you might want to skip. Plated Geopede - Maybe. Red has some pretty good stuff around the two mana mark and this might be hard to fit properly. He's good but not WTF-PWN'D good. Scute Mob - Yes, he's a great finisher and loves late game ramp effects (Put me solidly over five? Sure!). Scythe Tiger - No, shroud does not make up for being an X/2. Vampire Nighthawk - Yes, this guy does WTF-PWN for you. World Queller - Yes, and probably still underrated. A very tidy guy that draws removal. Steppe Lynx No, he falls very flat very quick. I didn't like him at all at the prerelease. Spell Pierce - Maybe, as it is a conditional counter. The one mana cost is nice but non-creature is bad. There are at least three soft counters at 1U that I would run before this unless you have a proponderance of spells compared to creatures.
Yes. A thousand times yes. They lured me in with Ivory Tower and Zuran Orb, and I kept telling myself "I can quit whenever I want...just look at that untapped disk". That was ten years ago man.....
The only one of these that I think is cubable is maybe the Vampire Hexmage. I'm going to try him as an aggro creature with anti-planeswalker text built in, and see how he performs. If the ability turns out to be too narrow, he'll come out.
I'm not completely sold on Scute Mob yet. I feel it's sort of like Serra Avenger, looks better than it actually is.
So far, my experience with World Queller has been mixed. I think if you build the proper cube deck around it, it can be devestating, but once again, I think it looks better than it actually is. I guess time and play will tell on these cards.
I figure I'm probably overrating Kor Sanctifiers but that type of effect is pretty awesome in cube. Summoning Trap, Plated Geopede, and Chandra Ablaze are more try and see than permanent additions.

Agreed. I'm holding off on both of those cards for the same reason.

Since you are talking about Collector's Edition, I think you may have meant Timetwister, not Time Spiral.
I'm in the neither camp here.

re-read his post. he is going to use spiral until he gets a twister.
My mistake.
Funny thing, I think Time Spiral is far better than Timetwister. I wouldn't bother with the expense for a weaker card.
We started with both in our cube and ended up dropping the twister. So, agreed.

Ok, sorry about that.
Tnx for the reviews, but I need to ask:
1) Why Plated Geopede is YES (or Maybe) while Steppe Lynx is MAYBE (or no)?
2) What about those cards?:
Zektar Shrine Expedition, Windrider Eel, Windborne Charge, Whiplash Trap, Welkin Tern, Vampire's Bite, Vampire Hexmage, Trusty Machete, and Summoner's Bane?
A small cube can live without ALL of these cards. In fact, my modern card face only cube didn't include a single one of these cards.
The only one of these that I think is cubable is maybe the Vampire Hexmage. I'm going to try him as an aggro creature with anti-planeswalker text built in, and see how he performs. If the ability turns out to be too narrow, he'll come out.

Of the rest, I think the Emeria Angel, Scute Mob, and World Queller are decent.
