Mox Diamond may well have placed higher, but it is a difficult card to procure, whilst being relatively obscure compared the the ABU Moxen and BL. A few people don't have one (like yours truly) and one or two no-votes shifts the mean down a couple of points. I would include it if I had one and could see it being very good.
I'm shocked that there's no Phyrexian Processor in the top 20. Savage, savage card.
Agreed on the Processor. I've first-picked it a number of times, and it is almost always made of win. There was one time I top-decked when I was at 4 life. Oh well, I'm sure I was going to lose no matter what I drew, short of some huge life gain or Balance.

We had that on no-vote on the Black Lotus. I would think that it's a popular enough card that even if you never have played with it, you could imagine where you'd draft it when you saw it.
Is Mox Diamond really that hard to find nowadays? It's definitely one that takes some adjusting too because of the land pitch, but a 5-color, permanent mana source for 0 cannot be denied.
I don't have any Processor experience, so I couldn't properly value it. It's the exact opposite (for me anyways) of the Lotus theory. It's not as popular as the most valuable card in MTG history, so it's a little easier to say, "I don't know".
Given the amount of cards people have learned about, "I didn't know <this> was so highly regarded! I gotta try it out! OMG LOL" -- I'm thinking that we'll revisit the Power Rankings in 6-10 months. That sound good/right?

I can't disagree with the power of the card, but it's a bit of a risk, and its value diminishes as disenchant effects increase number in a cube.
Also, it doesn't help that the artifact list is packed with pure awesome. I mean, Duplicant, Mana Vault, and Icy are in the bottom five. These are cards with very little risk that I windmill slam like a mother%$#$er.
These are cards I windmill slam like a mother%$#$er.
As is Phyrexian Processor for me. This cards has probably won me more games by itself than any other artifact on the list (with maybe the exception of Masticore).
Most people don't play the Processor correctly. They "play it safe" on like 4 life or whatever. If your opponent is at 20, you pay 10 life. One token can kill in 2 swings, or 2 tokens can kill in 1 swing. If they're at 18, you pay 9 life... 16 is 8 and so on. Limit the amount of time they have to draw an answer. It's usually "not fast enough".
Our playgroup learned that half life technique by watching John Finkel play with the card on the pro tour.
Playing a Processor on 10 is akin to going "all in" pre-flop with pocket aces. You have the best hand, and going all in is the "correct play" but that doesn't mean someone can't get lucky and beat you. For me, the Processor is definitely worth going all in with.

That is interesting, and I can totally see that being true. I play in a smallish cube that is loaded with artifact kill (and bounce), so I could never see myself drafting the card over Duplicant, Mana Vault, or Icy as the card has too often been a four mana fireball to myself. This is the same reason I couldn't squeeze Soul Foundry onto the list (which replaces the risk of life with the risk of a creature) which I freaking love.

Truly, truly brilliant.
Finkel needs to give private MTG lessons to the lesser humans who attempt to play his game.
I've got a question: Why were people ranking Razorcore so much higher than Masticore? Am I missing something?
Silent Edge's Tidbits of Wisdom: The Lewis Theory - When the presence of a single card makes every other card in your deck better (see Lewis, Ray). The Rubber Edict - You'd rather have it and not use it, than need it and not have it. The Shotgun Wedding - Don't commit early unless you absolutely have to.
I like the Razorcore simply because there is little mana investment once he hits the field. He does for free what Masicore requires 6 for. However good old Masticore becomes better in the late game than does the Razorcore when your mana is plentiful and he can do upwards of 3 damage to multiple targets.
I get that 5 is good for a 5/5, let alone a 5/5 First Strike.
I also get that 4 for a 4/4 is solid -- but when it comes down to it, how much of a difference is the Masticore's regenerate ability?
I like my creatures in the 4cc and less range, so obviously Im more partial to the Brown Core than the Silver Core. But I was also a big BG Rock player, so there might be a little bit of preference. But when all is said and done, yes the Silver Core is less mana intensive, but given that they have the same upkeep cost, doesn't the Brown Core provide more CA because his ability targets both creatures and players and he regenerates?

Huge. Regenerate is awesome. Also, being able to divide the damage between creatures is good too. I use him to kill multiple 1/1's regularly. His ability to regenerate is the reason it's a better card, IMO.

Not that I am arguing against his potency, but brown core does not hit players with his ability. Neither of them do.
I think it should also be noted that brown core canpotentially provide CA but you have to sink at least 4 mana into him to do so.
Sad thing is that the M10 changes will mean that these Top 20s will be outdated very soon:(
Quite a number of creatures will fall out of the lists...
i disagree. i even went back to take a second look at the voting results and the ony cards affected by the M10 rules changes that made the top twenty are all in the bottom five or so on their respective lists. the M10 rules do not change where i rated any particular card, and i suspect that the vast majority here feel the same way.

I agree with this. I won't change a single vote because of this card. We cubed three times today, playing about 20 or so games. Not a single one (other than the mulligan rule) was affected by M10.
I think that these rankings need to be updated every so often for new sets and errata in any case to stay up to date, and that rules changes may factor in, but I don't see them as a reason to go changing everything.

You were right. (Being persuaded on the Intenet, imagine that;)) I went over all the cards and in the top 20's you were indeed right. Not many get weaker.
Quick list:
- Morphling
- Chameleon Colossus
- Sakura-Tribe Elder
- Siege Gang
- Mother of Runes
- Umezawa Jitte
- Psychatog
There are a lot of cards that get worse but they did not seem to make to the top lists.
The Sakura-Tribe Elder aren't getting much worse. It's very rare that the one damage really matters.
And mother of runes should also be about the same in powerlevel i figure.
