Be aware, though, that these rankings are almost a year old now and a few sets have come out since then, so it's a bit dated. For example, Reflector Mage has eclipsed Detention Sphere on a lot of lists.

I've enjoyed the stuff he has posted. I haven't agreed with all of it as some of it has seemed to be "contrarian cause that's the shtick", but I appreciate some of it as it's helped me think outside the box on certain cube subjects.
Someone over on reddit just ranked the top 10 cards for each guild as part of a future podcast series or something. Some of his choices are peculiar but it makes for a good read and it's certainly a different take on the whole guild section (his other articles on the subject make for interesting reads also). Plus I agree with most of his overall evaluations for each color combination. I'll link them below if anyone's interested (hope it's ok) :
Saying that Mirari's Wake is terrible is some kind of strange IMO. Same as not putting it into Selesnya Top 10... Sorin, Solemn Visitor rank higher than Sorin, Lord of Innistrad? Really? I mean, absolutely not. And Nightveil Specter, one of the Top-3 Dimir card, while leaving Psychatog out of the picture, no f****** way. Other than that, those articles seems to contain a lot of interresting informations. Thanks for sharing.
I think his articles provide an interesting viewpoint. It's kind of a breath of fresh air to see opinions from those that aren't regulars here on MTGS. I definitely don't agree w/ everything he says, but that's the thing about opinions. He's entitled to his and I respect it as a fellow cuber.
On the subject of guild sections, I think there are so many options available in most guilds today that you can pretty much craft each guild to support the types of decks that you want to be playing in those colors. There's a generally accepted consensus as to what the top three are, but beyond that, it's mostly a matter of playgroup preference and archetype support for your specific cube.
What are the top three's that everyone is talking about?
You could look at the last year's power rankings thread to see what was voted on then ...I don't think too much has changed.
