Together we are building a cube of all of the best standard cards that don't quite make it to eternal formats right now for some reason.
Anything from fleece mane lion to masticore. Even if it was in legacy or modern before, if it isn't a commonly played card I would love to hear it!
A big part of this is budget, so try and keep the choices below $25 if you could! Lands are acceptable. Right now we have the theros and tango lands as well as the tri colored from shards and KTK.
Any card works! Even current standard or tier two decks! Another thing is complete decks. We are putting zendikar vampire tribal in the cube, so if you had a deck you LOVED when it came out, post a list or a name!
Links are always appreciated and as soon as we have a list I will post it for those interested in commenting or using!
The goal is to get a mix of all of the most interesting standards, as well as play some of the cool cards I (and many others) missed out on playing!
I would recommend exploring CubeTutor. It's a great resource for uploading/managing your cube list, and it has sweet tools for looking at commonly played cube cards & comparing lists.
i had a similar idea when i first started putting my cube together. to focus my thinking, i tried to support classic standard archetypes, and some naturally cool fits came up; things like astral slide (cycling) and madness. check those decks out!

Also, this thread here: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/the-cube-forum/cube-card-and-archetype/603665-budget-cube-cards-that-cost-less-than-2-usd is focussed on helping players identify the most cubeworthy cards for the least amount of $$$. Sounds like it might be up your alley.
I've also written a few cube articles that might be helpful as you start out. You can check out my sig and my cube thread for links.
Cheers, and happy cubing!
