Yes, it's made of wood covered with white painting and varnish. I think i would rather she had not painted, i like the aspect of raw wood, but since it was a gift made by my own mother i can't complain
Thanks for your interest
I'll give her a call but i live in Brazil (as she does), i think it will be difficult to her to take international commissions, assuming you are not from here of course
I suppose I should've known better, but I'm really disappointed and frustrated that the orange Ultra Pro Pro Matte sleeves I ordered for my cube aren't fully opaque. I feel like they really shouldn't advertise them as "perfect for tournament play" if that's the case.
Yeah, I've stopped buying Ultra Pros and just buy KMC Hyper Mattes now. The price difference isn't very large and too many Ultra Pros are actually translucent.
I've had someone at my LGS complain about being able to see flip cards through dragon shields both matte and regular. I used to think he was just being picky but now I can see it clear as day. I'm almost entirely dark colored KMC mattes going forward and started using checklist cards.
My KMC Hyper Mats are falling apart like dust and they are only have a year old. Don't know why people told me, they were awesome and nearly indestructible. For my part, I will stick to Dragon Shields or even Ultra Pros. At least UP they are the cheapest option in my city.
We've been double sleeved with Hyper Mats for the couple months now. I gotta say, they definitely haven't lived up to the hype. We seem to break 1-2 each cube draft.
I've had my KMC Hypermats for a little over a year and I'm about to have to resleeve. Some of them have been splitting, but the bigger problem is that they're grimy from getting handled, shuffled, passed around, etc. Resleeving is an expensive and tedious process, and I really don't want to have to do this again in another year. I'm always careful to wash my hands and the table I'm working on before I shuffle or update my cube, but is there anything else I can do to keep my sleeves from getting gross? Would switching to Dragonshields or another brand of sleeves help?

We had KMC Mats prior to going with the Hypers and double sleeving. I don't know that I will go with the Hypers again after the experience I've had so far. The matte finish on them isn't as pleasant, imo, as the regular KMC Mats were. And they seem to split much easier from side shuffling. I've not noticed any grime build up on these so far, but they are only a couple months old at this point. The KMC Mats did get a little grimy and faded (they were black), but not to the point that I thought they were getting gross. We had gun metal gray KMC Supers on prior to those KMC Mats and they got disgusting. The smooth finish on them combined with the light color seemed to attract all the dirt and grime.
Interesting, I'll have to keep a look out for all that. The KMCs have been on my cards for less than a year. For me Dragon Shields have always been the quickest to get grimy.

Yeah, Dragon Shield sleeves tend to get grimy real quick. At least they don't break in part like the KMC. If you are looking for Quality-Price-Durability, Dragon Shield should be your bet.
So after tons of reading, and being new to MTG I was having trouble with card sleeves. At first I was stupid and ordered 5k Ultra Pro sleeves, and 400 KMC Hypermattes in black thinking I could double sleeve. I soon realized my failure that I didn't buy perfect fit's. I understand that Ultra Pro's are cheaper sleeves and can fall apart but I wanted to try this anyway.
I purchased a pack of KMC perfect fit's, and a pack of Ultra pro Pro Fit's, per pack the KMC's were about double the price. The KMC's as expected fit perfectly, very glossy and slide around easily. They fit great inside the KMC hyper's.
Now a couple days later the Pro Fit's came in, I tested a few out on some junk cards you can find in boosters due to a lot of complaints about having to bends cards to get them to fit and I had no issues at all.
And since I can find 1k Pro Fit's for $17, and 1k perfect fit's for $27 that's a $10 difference. I'm going to just go ahead and get the pro fit's to be my inner sleeve. Sometimes you might get the occasional sleeve that's too small but for a price difference like that who cares, just throw it away and move on. With this said I will use the KMC Hyper's as the outer sleeve for my active decks that I use, but I will also be using those 5k regular ultra pro sleeves to double sleeve everything that is also in storage. Right now I just use the 4 gift boxes that have been released, with the 5th on it's way mid-may.
Same here. And then I saw your cube list on top of it.
It's a good thing you didn't post photos of the cube cards on top of the box pictures... you'd probably have been responsible for a lot of "Cleanup in Aisle 7"s.

Haha! I saw the list too. I'm guessing orange cards were proxies, and light blue foils? Either way, amazing box and sweet cube! Get on that cubetutor though!
