My cube is currently sleeved with penny sleeves and I'm planning to buy some sort of KMC sleeves along with the perfect fits. I can't choose between the black mattes and the pearl whites. I think the pearl whites would look nice although I'm worried about the quality compared to the black mattes and if white sleeves are just generally a bad idea (easily dirtied). Thoughts?

I have a set of white sleeves on one of my standard decks and they are pretty high maintainance. Playing on a playmat helps but obviously it's more difficult than that with a cube. I've switched over to matte blacks and if they are getting dirty, I can't really tell as I could with the whites. The lighter color highlights all the dirty spots.

I just saw this. Never go with white sleeves no matter how amazing you think they are. Whites are the easiest to see through the back (all companies) and get dirty like it's nobody's business. Dark sleeves like black or brown are way better. If you want something stylish and not bad in the durability department, silver/gold (KMC or Dragon Shield) is another strong option.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
Oh, this might be irrelevant, but I'd totally be interested in buying one of those boxes with the customized front.
Though, I like the one you have. The magic symbols are just simple and elegant.
+1 here...I would actually like to purchase one exactly like yours.

so I recently made a big sleeve purchase of about 500 orange ultra pros. Usually I'm a huge fan of them, since they're cheap (even though they break fairly easily). However, what really got me this time was the fact that at least one third of the packs were MISCUT. So when I had all my sleeves in one box, it was clear where certain sleeves were larger than others.
So given that this really gets me, I decided to look more into alternate sleeve options. I've heard that Dragon Shields have a tendency to be miscut as well. Are there any reliable (and relatively affordable) brands out there that I can sleeve up with?
Also, is double sleeving beneficial for foils? How much would you estimate double sleeving would cost for a 500 card ish cube (which includes basics).
And FWIW, it's possible to distinguish DFCs (compared to regular backs) through orange ultra pros.

The only ultra pros I've found that don't show through the back are the matte blacks. A few years ago I bought a bunch of sleeves in bulk and experienced similar issues with the cut length of the sleeves. When I purchased packs of 100 for my 360 cube + basics just recently I found the consistency was much better but still not perfect. I guess you wouldn't really notice unless you were sleeving more than 100 cards at a time or if you swap cards in and out of decks frequently. The price point and local availability of ultra pro sleeves keeps me coming back.
Has anyone tried a camera or pistol case? I'm seriously tempted to pick one of these up, but I have to take some measurements for total space requirements first. Looks like there are a bunch of size options, but none seem quite right

Ok, I'm just going to put it down on the table: if you do this, god man from the heavens, I WILL THROW MY MONEY AT YOU.
...Probably. I don't know. I really want a box like this, but I wouldn't be able to use it in the near future (I keep my cube in an unlocked cupboard at school - no, seriously.)
But you should still do it for others. and make this world a better place to live in.
I would totally throw money at anyone who produced cube storage of such quality. Amazing stuff. It would be a 100% definite upgrade to the 1000 count and fat pack boxes I use for cube and land respectively.
I'm in the process of producing custom wooden cube boxes for a friend's cube. I'll post pictures of it once it is complete. Would anyone be interested in buying truly custom boxes?
I've actually got a big problem with Dragon Shields. I went and bought myself a case of them and just about EVERY box is miscut to the point where I actually got a game loss at a PTQ. I'd seriously suggest avoiding Dragon Shields and going straight for KMCs (my personal favorite now) or Ultra Pro.
So, I need some new sleeves for my cube and I was going to try and get them on the cheap. Has anyone ever used this brand that keeps popping up on Ebay: Here?
I only ask because my last set of Ultra Pros were destroyed within about 3 years by the guys who play with my cube. I'm okay with tossing 30$ at my cube every 3 years, but I don't want to be doing that all the time.
And if Ebay isn't the best place to buy bulk sleeves, someone let me know

I'd buy KMC sleeves (if you're gonna use perfect fits and double-sleeve) or Dragon Shields for single-sleeving, and I'd get them from potomacdist.com ...they're super affordable.
I don't see why you are complaining if they almost lasted you 3 years. I feel like if you guys cubed regularly that is a REALLY good lifetime for them. Suprised they would last even that long.
I dislike dragonshields since atleast for me, my hands are very oily, no matter how much I was them the sleeves seem to get sort of dirty kind of fast.
KMC's are really nice, never had a real problem with them, I like ultra pro's matte's but I dislike the ultra pro's when they are double sleeved.
It's honestly all up to which brand YOU think is best.
I wasn't complaining about the 3 years, I was wondering whether anyone had any experience to support that these sleeves were at least of similar quality.
Honestly, I would not try to skimp in even the slightest when it comes to sleeves. With the amount of manipulation cube cards are subjected to, a good sleeve is very important. I used to have my cube in Ultra Pro matte finish and when I switched to higher quality the entire cube experience got better.

Really? I recently got Ultra Pro pro-matte black sleeves and they're like a dream. Snug fit, non-glare, uniform cut, completely opaque, superb shuffling, and a very satisfying texture. All of that for only $2.25 per 50 sleeves (or less than $2 in bulk) I can't ask for anything more.
Now, apparently they only come in this hideous orange color with slightly transparent backs, so I'm not jumping on the first shipments. He promised white and black as the colors being added for the MtG sized sleeves during the second print run. If anyone decides to test the durability of these with some strong shuffling I'd be very interested in the results.
Hey im going to college next month and i was wondering any one could suggest a way to store my cube to protect it from college things (theft, water damage, etc)
currently its just in one of those cardboard boxes for card collections and dragon shields
