Welcome back, Mister Lamp. Do you still have your cube together?
Nope, I sold it when I quit out of magic. I still have a backup of the list though, and am thinking I'm going to build a pauper/peasant/esque cube with my remaining commons and uncommons before I sell out completely.
(I want to make a multiplayer cube that's basically a commander cube, but all the 'commanders' are just any rare or mythic and the main cube is only commons/uncommons, but I may just build a traditional pauper/peasant cube instead, idk yet.)

Rest in RIP My Signature, I guess. 2015-2016, we hardly knew ye.
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
I definitely recommend giving Peasant cube a try if you want to keep some skin in the game without spending much money. I built one fairly recently almost entirely out of cards I had on hand, and it's been a lot of fun. I've been surprised at how many people I've played it with say they prefer it to playing my rare cube. It also costs next to nothing to update with each new set.
Good luck, whatever you decide!

I wasn't here for any of the discussion of this, but does anyone else still think that magiccards.info was way, way better than whatever nonsense they are using on the site? I mean, the autocard system is cool, but in every other respect it's a downgrade imo.
I just finished and released a new Hearthstone Quiz App for iOS.
I wanted to make one for Magic as well (with a specific Cube specific quiz), but WotC didn't want us to make them a free app (with only a few commercials to cover our cost). Anyway we made it for Hearthstone instead.
I would be grateful if you test our app and give us feedback. Any maybe give us a nice five star review.
So hearthstone gave you permission but WotC didn't? I think that speaks to a lot of the problems wizards has with their customer base in comparison to similar products.

Blizzard didn't give me permissions directly, but their legal terms states that you can use images, card names, etc. as long as you don't put content behind a paywall (so in this case I hope we are within these fair usage terms).
I wrote to wizards directly, because it clearly states that you should fill out a form if you want to use card images, names, etc for app purposes. They basically replied "Thanks, but no thanks".
And your right. WotC don't understand marketing, esport, or streaming, using their engaged community and similar.
We'll be making our annual trip to AZ to visit my in-laws soon. We arrive July 19 and fly back on the 31st. Yes, I'm aware that this is a terrific time to visit the desert! Anyway, I expect to have a good amount of downtime, so if anyone who's semi-local to the Phoenix area will be having some drafts, let me know.
I've been drafting once a week at the LGS lately. It's been great. There are four people who tend to be there, and usually we find another few people, ending up with 4-6 players. Super good.
Yesterday, I had to ask one of the random players not to riffle shuffle my cards. In addition, he was an annoying *****heel and I got the feeling he was eyeing cards, so I made him and the other new guy count out 45 cards after the games. I think he'll not be invited to draft again.

I often draft at an LGS, or at a bar where I don't know every single person I draft with so insisting on a count is something I do for every player, every single time I draft, and I have a friend who knows my cube that I trust help me with the process. It not only helps prevent and deter theft, but also accidental losses. It's a lot easier to track down a missing card while everyone's still at the draft than after the fact. Even if you lose a card that's not worth very much, it's still a massive hassle to go through the entire cube to figure out what's missing so you can replace the card once.
I've yet to have a single card go missing since I started insisting on a thorough count at each draft, although it also helps that the Magic community in Korea is pretty small so no one's a complete stranger for very long. Also, everyone playing my cube gets why it's important for me to keep track of where my cube cards are, so there's never been any griping. Cube safely, and count your cards every single draft.

This is an unfortunate part of drafting with strangers, but you made all the right moves. We have not invited players back for suspect play and even cheating. Someone who we were friendly with told us almost in a bragging way about a year ago that he would cheat players that weren't paying attention. This left a sour taste in our mouths and every time we played with him since it was always all of us watching him like a hawk. The last time I caught him actually drafting two cards at once as an 'accident' (we burn draft so it's not out of the question that someone might put one of the burn cards into their pile) and while I didn't press the matter then it culminated with me mentally never being able to trust him and we haven't played with him since.
I like the guy, he's ultimately nice, but I've learned through living that being nice and being a cheater are not mutually exclusive. Good people can be *****ty and it doesn't make them bad, but it doesn't mean you still have to play with them either.
Also if you riffle shuffle you're the scum of the earth and I despise you. Riffle shuffle your own cards, but don't ruin someone else's.
Did you know people have patched Shandalar with more modern cards. Game is still a ton of fun.
My decks through my last play through.
This was my deck that I used when I just wanted to quickly play games.
Could use another Timewalk and Ancestral Recall.
This was my deck that I used when I wanted to make someone suffer.
Win condition was forcing them to discard with Wheel of Fortune/Windfall and then exiling their graveyard with tormods crypt. Then reseting everything with Timetwister.

Ahhhhh good ol' shandalar with the 4x lotus 3x Mox Pearl deck.
When I used to play on cockatrice every once in a while someone would spam the chat with annoying bull***** that could be accomplished just by setting up a room. It was almost always "CASUAL DECK, PLAY ME IN A CASUAL GAME, NON COMPETITIVE BLAH BLAH BLAH..." So the deck I always joined and played with was:
20x Black Lotus
20x Mox Sapphire
10x Inkwell Leviathan
10x Tinker

Kind of reminds me of the Black Lotus, Wheel of Fortune, Feldon's Cane deck that used to win on turn 1 just by milling the opponent out.
That's awesome about Shandalar though. Where do you find it now?
Drafted today. I ended up in a really good UR Wildfire / Upheaval deck.
Round one against a pretty bad GR midrange deck, ramped into Sundering Titan, then Wildfired remaining lands away while I had two rocks out and he had literally nothing on turn 8.
Next round, the GR midrange guy played against a guy who went T2 Wasteland, T3 Sinkhole, T6 Plow Under.
Poor guy had to go for a walk and catch a Pokemon or whatever to feel better. I always ask players to let me know what they do and don't like about the cube, and he made it pretty clear he didn't care for getting all his lands blown up. I don't think my cube has any more LD proportionally than other cubes. The only goofy denial card I run is Mwunvoli Acid-Moss, but that's a pet card that never gets played unless it's me playing it.
I think I'll give it a few more drafts and we'll see if the LD gets too annoying for the playgroup. I hope not.

The very first draft of my cube my playgroup asked me to remove Armageddon, Balance and Sundering Titan. It's just not something some groups/people are into. (I personally don't mind, but it's more important to me that the people playing the cube get an experience they enjoy.)
