I found the interview and subsequent analysis largely incomprehensible. It took me a while to work out that the gentleman being questioned had actually prevailed on the field of play; he seemed remarkably cross.
Goodking, has the shocking performance of our cricket team in the antipodes so addled your senses that you have sought solace in gridiron "football"?

It was bush league. And manning is going to walk over this team.
Even the most die hard, blinkered, Broncos fan doesn't actually believe that, unless their experience of football consists solely of the Broncos' 90 point basketball games against garbage like the Cowboys, Jags, Redskins and Raiders. Seahawks D is now in the top 2 or 3 defenses historically, I believe, after when they've had a tough schedule including 3 games against the 49ers in one season. Broncos haven't had to deal with that sort of D yet this season, and I don't see either team putting up a ton of points in the SB. The preseason game between these teams (starters started) finished 40-10 to the Hawks, FYI.
I'm a huge fan of Peyton Manning since a long time ago at the Colts, and would rather the Broncos win all day long rather than the Pats or Niners, but they'll need to get some run game going too. Seahawks can certainly be beaten by mixing it up. I wouldn't begrudge Manning the super bowl win at all; he deserves it. But it's on the whole team, not just the QB. Wilson is a gentleman too, and what a ride it's been in his young career! If the Hawks are the better team on the day, I think Manning would be first in line to congratulate them. There's a lot of respect between these franchises.

Don't get me started on the Ashes, it was just miserable. The ODI ending to Faulkner was just the poop cherry on the cake. Cook needs time away from the team to sort his batting, let alone the other issues surrounding the captaincy!
How a team can go 3-0 to 0-5 in a few months beggars belief.
I'm not speaking from some fan boy pit of delusion. Manning knows what' he's doing, and he destroys defenses. He wrecked KC's villainous defense.
And what do you mean they need to get a run game going, Moreno is a machine. They have a run game, they've had a run game since Jacksonville when they really started getting him going more and more.
And manning is core to the team, he's the cog in a well preserved clock. Everyone one of his offensive weapons are top notch players.
As far as preseason, 1. It's preseason and 2. it was at Seattle. After watching how devastating a home crowd can be to San Diego, I am not shocked at all they lost that game
If they can roll over Brady, they can roll over the Sophomore Wilson, he's great no doubt but I'm not really worried.
KC's D is the one that finished 11-6 and let up a near-record breaking comeback vs. The Colts. The only reason they ever went 9-0 was the easy schedule. Broncos O is elite, but honestly no D they have faced is even close. I believe all the top 5 defenses were in the NFC this season. It's not about rolling over Brady or Wilson... It's the D that has to be rolled! Brady struggled against the Denver D in the last game and that's a fair point. That why getting both sides of the offense going is important. That will be tricky for Seattle too. The bookies are evens on this game and for good reason. It's ridiculously hard to call. My gut says Seattle. It will be a fascinating battle between two great teams.
I finally got around to revamping my gaming table.
I use it for d&d and for magic. I cut it down from the original 8' x 8' since it was like playing across area codes for magic and it was really hard to use for d&d with miniatures.
I saw many variations of the tiered table, so I did the same so I could have the minis on top, papers/books on bottom, and have people closer so we could reach it.
Then with it down, it really works well for magic, creates almost a raised battleground area
Also, since we always have lots of food for d&d, we can have more room to walk around and not be so crowded. The light in the center is so people can see when the top tier is up, works really well. Over all, an average person should be able to sit with their elbows comfortably on the table and look on to the top tier.
Lovely design. Those corners look a little bit annoying to snag or hit on, but I guess you were going for the DnD hex look I do agree that an LED or at least lower wattage would go a long way, it looks like you have a small sun in there
We have the Six Nations soon, so can't wait to enthrall you guys with that discussion of that one. I'm looking at you Humpty_Dumpty!
Oh yes. I'm predicting wins for Wales, England and Ireland next weekend. Ireland vs Scotland to be closest, but Ireland have the home advantage. France could upset England but they're not in good form at present. Wales vs Italy at the Millenium Stadium? Lets hope it's not too one-sided.
Did you build that table yourself, Umaro? If so, nice work!

I heard it went buy-to-play recently and abandoned the traditional subscription model, which sounds highly tempting. I've been playing FF14 on and off lately as my first foray into MMORPGs but as polished as it is, I likely wouldn't be playing it if it didn't have FF lore-building and IRL friends to keep in touch with.
I'm currently trapped at my school where I teach. We still have about 20+ kids here with us, and the roads are all so full of accidents and road closures and steep hills that I'm not sure when I'll be able to drive the 5 miles home (which is currently taking 3-4 hours, according to those who are doing it).

I would have to imagine that LED light strips would be better than an incandescent light like that.

I just cut it down to try and match the table, which technically can sit 8 people. That it feel crowded but i don't have that many people usually.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I actually just bought a batch of cards to update my playgroup's Pokemon Cube earlier this week, I'm excited to try it.
A Pokemon: The Gathering cube sounds interesting, I'll definitely check it out.
