I think you'll need to run multiple copies. Maybe 2 or 3 of each if you're sticking to just Tempest block. You may need more than one Reflecting Pool too.
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
Another option is to add another block (Mirage?) to improve fixing and patch up the curve issues that a Tempest only cube will probably have. The card pool would still be quite small and it might dramatically improve the playing experience.
For manafixing purposes, I would suggest adding Invasion block. You get taplands, lairs, and enemy painlands. Thematically, it's also the end of the mega-block that started with Weatherlight. Going backwards to Mirage could also work as well.
Well first version will be Rath cycle only. We can see if we can live with the more limited experience this will provide. After that we can decide if we should add another block or just more non-basics. But the feel will be totally different with Invasion or Urza added to it.
So I need some help with a number breakdown for a 450 custom card cube I plan on making with a friend for fun. I don't know what the average breakdown should be for monocolor/guilds/10 shard and wedges/lands and artifacts. The shard/wedge cards are because he is a very big fan of multicolor and as such he also wants a larger than usual multicolor section. I'm not very versed into how to properly breakdown a cube with a larger than normal multicolor commitment. (Or a normal cube for that matter) Any advice on this?

I run a 450 (links all over my sig). 60 of each color, 80 colorless/artifact (my artifact count is high to allow for the Artifact.dec package) and 70 in guild (4 lands, 3 spells).
If you're looking to make it a Guild/Shard/Wedge-based, then I would suggest 50 of each color, 70 colorless/artifact, 70 guild and that leaves you 60 cards for the Shards/Wedges/etc (which Tri-lands would be included in that count). You could then allow 5 cards per Shard/Wedge (50 total) and have another 10 left over for quad-color and 5-color spells.
Silent Edge's Tidbits of Wisdom: The Lewis Theory - When the presence of a single card makes every other card in your deck better (see Lewis, Ray). The Rubber Edict - You'd rather have it and not use it, than need it and not have it. The Shotgun Wedding - Don't commit early unless you absolutely have to.
Is there a thread or something anywhere about the process of making a custom cube? I like the idea, at least as a thought experiment, but it seems like an awkward undertaking.

Man, this forum has been a ghost town the past 3-4 days.
Truth.
Anywho, last week I was inspired by wtwlf's move from 465 down to 375 and made a similar drop in my cube down to 360. While we've had 10-man drafts in the past, it seemed like 4-8 was the vast majority of cube sessions, especially 4 5 or 6. Well, we had our first 6-man draft last Thursday and I definitely noticed the increase in consistency between all of the cards in the packs. I think that even though the cuts down to 360 meant losing a bunch of cards I've enjoyed playing with, the overall experience was much tighter. I'm hoping this will allow decks like Wildfire, Artifacts, Sneak Attack and the other cheaty/combo decks to come together with greater consistency in the future. If anyone is thinking about making the drop in cube size to cater more specifically to your group's size, I highly recommend giving it a shot.
Don't be too hasty in trading all that stuff away. I'd hold onto it for at least a few months before you decide to sell any of it. It would be devastating if you really wanted to move back up to 450 and had to re-buy all those cards.
Glad you're liking the smaller size. It makes the archetypes you hold onto much more consistent, and increases the power-level of the cube by quite a bit.
It hasn't been a ghost town so much as it feels like there was a 50% shift in who was posting here. Some of the old stalwarts stuck around while a bunch left and a bunch of new people have showed up to take their place.
At this point, I can't even remember what the old forum looked like. It's kind of blending into the old wizards forum in my head as a "forum of lost toys" that no longer exist.

I hadn't realized it until I read your post, but you're right. I'm experiencing the same thing. I remember really resenting the new forum design when it happened but obviously that has faded. I still stand by the fact that the older view was easier on the eyes though..

For the first time in a very long time I had my guys over for cube last night. We played a special event with most of the draft-altering cards and the conspiracies feeded into the draft. It was loads of fun, and if you haven't tried this mode I strongly recommend trying it out.
At this point, I can't even remember what the old forum looked like.
Same here. Initially, I wasn't happy with the change, but if I can no longer remember what made the old forum better, then the new one can't be that bad, right?
I think it's became even more bulky with more scrolling. Doesn't feel like a very new website for 2014. Look at Reddit and Facebook, they're so much more simple and text dense compared to this website.

I first picked a Worldknit and also drafted a Cogwork Grinder late in the second pack. This enabled me to create a 48 card deck (20 lands), with lands such as Mishra's Workshop and Maze of Ith on steroids.
The play of the day was turn one Mishra's Workshop into Coalition Relic, turn two Hero of Bladehold reveal Immediate Action. Yeah - I won that game.
Another guy drafted Iterative Analysis to create a broken Capsize.
Great fun all along.
