I think one way it would be printable is if it was a Slith trigger. An Inspired trigger would also work and potentially have room for shenanigans with untapping

it's a 5/5 trample for 4 that replaces itself when it dies. i DO like phyrexian mana with an effect based on the amount of mana to cast it.
make the base p/t 0/0 and i love it.
EDIT: i swear it said 1/1 when i wrote this.
it looks great.
3 life is too much for the 2nd half and WAY too much for the 1st half. Too many decks attack your life total to bolt yourself for every activation.
Compare it to Mana Crypt, a FREE sol ring that can and has killed many players with 50% bolt activations. Choosing when to take the 3 life can be better, but getting to a point where you can't activate any part of the card makes it pretty unplayable.
The damage isn't necessary at all on the first ability. Dump that and it might be playable as pseudo-LoA, but I'd probably still rather just play Mikokoro.
3 Opal Monolith
Artifact
As ~ enters the battlefield, choose a color. T: Choose one --
* Add one mana of the chosen color to your mana pool.

Inquisitors Chamber 4
Artifact
At the beginning of each opponents upkeep, ~ deals damage to that player equal to the number of noncreature artifacts you control. t , Tap an untapped creature you control: investigate
@Blal Inquisitors Chamber is hella busted. It would never see print. In cube, it would probably be a bolt every turn without even investigating once (mox, equipment, this). Sphinx-Bone Wand doesn't give you CA, doesn't make itself better every turn, and doesn't consistently deal damage....and it costs 7. Sorry Charlie, this thing would never see print.
Beckoning Call 2UU
Instant
Counter target spell. If the spell is countered this way, gain control of it and exile it with time counters on it equal to its converted mana cost instead of putting it into its owner's graveyard. If it doesn't have suspend, it gains suspend.
It's probably not strong enough as there are too many spells that make this just a 4 mana cancel. (i.e. is it reasonable to expect a 4+cmc to go off in a game from t4 going forward? Even a cmc3 card seems tenuous.)
Golden MelodyWW Enchantment
When Golden Melody or another enchantment enters the battlefield under your control, put a 1/1 white soldier creature token onto the battlefield.

Angry MilitiaR Creature - Human Warrior 2/1

Smelter Initiate1RR Creature - Human Shaman

Since we're throwing around counterspells...my templating is probably horrible, oh well.
Rush of Prescience 1UU
Instant
Choose One -
Counter target spell. If you do, exile Rush of Prescience with 2 time counters on it. It gains suspend.
Scry 3, then draw a card.
And one specifically for my 90-card cube:
Appoint the Lead 2W
Sorcery
Up to two creatures you control gain Battle Cry until end of turn.
Retrace
Rush of Prescience looks pretty good and fun. I was confused how you would counter a spell after the suspend counters are removed until I realized that you just choose the other option. I don't think it would see print as it can be confusing to new players.
I don't think I would be interested in Appoint the Lead for my cube. I'd like more Retrace cards (I love that mechanic), but I don't think this one is good enough.
Yeah, I run tokens as an archetype in my microcube. Getting a pseudo-anthem +2/+0 and potentially +4/+0 or more on a single card is exactly what I want. But I can understand how that isn't good enough for other cubes.
This seems about right. I'm concerned that BB + sorcery speed makes this a little tough to play though. Would it be too much to suggest that this could cost 1B? After all, if you compare it to Doom Blade/Go for the Throat, you're losing the restriction in exchange for the speed. Alternately, at BB it could probably be an instant, compared to Malicious Affliction, you lose the targeting restriction in exchange for losing the Morbid.
Golden MelodyWW Enchantment
When Golden Melody or another enchantment enters the battlefield under your control, put a 1/1 white soldier creature token onto the battlefield.
I almost think this could be a 1/1 without breaking anything.
Wishkeeper2UU Creature - Dijinn
Flying
When Wishkeeper enters the battlefield, scry 3.
When Wishkeeper dies, draw a card. 3/1
Decent, though I'm not sure it's cubeable.
Runeback King3UU Creature - Crab
Hexproof
Prowess
Whenever you cast a non-creature spell, scry 2. 2/4
This feels a lot like the Sphinx from Theros
Angry MilitiaR Creature - Human Warrior 2/1
(since r 2/1 without drawbacks is no longer dis-allowed now that we have Falkenrath Gorger, a relatively simple non-tribal enabling one is desired for if you don't want to power up vampries or want to stick with more generic stuff or want to play it with Muraganda Petroglyphs or something)
While WotC has broken the "no 2/1 1-drop without drawback" rule for Red, it remains to be seen whether that change will stay moving forward, as MaRo was opposed to it.
Smelter Initiate1RR Creature - Human Shaman
When Smelter Initiate enters the battlefield, you may destroy target artifact. 3/1
Seems reasonable. Could maybe be 2R as it's a sidegrade from Manic Vandal. At 1RR I think First Strike or Haste could make its way on here.
Disenchanter Initiate2W Creature - Human Cleric
When Disenchanter Initiate enters the battlefield, you may destroy target artifact or enchantment. 1/3
Also seems about right.
Abjurer Initiate3UU Creature - Human Wizard
Flash
Vigilance
When Abjurer Initiate enters the battlefield, you may counter target spell.
Abjurer Initiate can't be the target of spells you don't control with converted mana cost 2 or less. 1/5
This seems weird, and at 5 mana probably isn't good enough for Cube. Maybe with a second or third point of power.
Forest King4GGG Creature - Cat Plant Avatar
Forest King can't be countered.
Hexproof, Vigilance, Trample, Reach 5/5
I feel like this could cost 6 or have better stats.
Speediest Scout1RR Creature - Human Scout Shaman
Flash
Double strike, Haste
Whenever you scry, Speediest Scout gets +1/+1 until end of turn and you may untap it. 1/3
"Whenever you Scry" is a weird trigger, especially in Red. Haste + Doublestrike is pretty nice though.
Lucky Statue1 Artifact
When Lucky Statue enters the battlefield, scry 2 and you may have up to one target creature you control get +0/+1 until end of turn. 1, t: Target creature you control gets +0/+1 until end of turn. Lucky Statue does not untap during your next untap step.
This seems weird.

Flavor wise, it seems to involve being 'inspired' by visions, and inspiration into passion tends to be a red thing.
Lucky Statue was just a failed attempt at making a decent 1 drop non-creature non-equipment artifact, due to a lack of suitable ones I could find for a cube I was working on. The closest I could find was Glasses of Urza or Ivory Tower to something along the lines of what I wanted, but they didn't synergize well with other parts of the cube that I wanted such a card to be playable with at that cmc. I was having trouble thinking up weak enough yet still relevant effects to tag onto it.
Might be better if it focused more on power instead of toughness. Seems like a card more aggressive decks could want if that was the focus as it could act like a colorless Rancor of sorts. Even then it's prob not good enough.

Right, those both showed up in Theros block where red scry was also pretty common. In most cubes though, red runs MAYBE one red scry card (Magma Jet), and like, 3 scry cards total (Serum Visions and Preordain being the other two) making this card weird.

5 mana 4/4 menace seems like a passable (non-cube) limited card, but not super exciting. The cost reduction is unreliable, and then it has a drawback? Unenthused.
Indulgent Assassin4BB Creature - Human Rogue
Flash
Deathtouch, First Strike

So it's basically "destroy target creature and target attacking creature"... which is overpriced at 6 mana. Sticking around is okay and might make this worthwhile, but why the upkeep cost?
