You can't even see those in the UK, let alone buy them. Shipping that value from the US would cost the same again in import taxes and shipping insurance lol.
Not to mention that they kind of clash extraordinarily with the rest of the cube. They are sexy, though.
That's what makes them sexy. They're totally unique. Which is awesome for a format that showcases all the different things Magic has to offer.
I can see the appeal and I'd probably run them if I owned them. But there's nothing making me want to pay that kind of money for them. The Chandra is the only one I actually like (Ajani is OK too).

Crazy thing is, this Chandra is good, but I'm not sure she's a cube staple. I don't want to spend $100+ on a card, and then have it get bumped out in a year. I suppose I could always resell the card, but...

I meant I like the promo arts rather than the cards, but as it happens, Chandra and Ajani are probably the best cube ones too. In your case with a 600 card cube, it is a very safe purchase indeed. She is very good.
I have to admit that, although I had my reservations regarding the art (read: I thought it was ugly), the Chandra pack foil actually looks pretty good in person. Having said that I do like the sdcc one better (Ajani too).
I actually agree that they are horrid looking, but they sure are rare and unique. I am hoping to get a set, but not to ever use. Lots of trade value there...
A friend of mine is quitting Magic and selling all his cards, so he decided to let me keep some things since he cubes with us all the time. (He also left me with some stuff for commander)
And he still has three binders of foils (with playsets of foil Jaces and Goyfs) to sell.

animate dead seems like the perfect card to choose for an alter which covers the text box since the oracle text reads like nonsense anyway. Plus that's a sweet alter.
Kicking asses in style

I understand your frustration, but this thread and public forum might not be the best place to talk about the situation.
