Saffi Eriksdotter is just as much of a monster in cube as she is in commander, but not always in the same ways. Combat math is so much more integral to cube games than commander games and there are a lot of times when the correct play is to sac Saffi and recur your Flickerwisp or something just to keep pressure on. My opponent built a GW speedy midrange deck with a few value ETB creatues and totally obliterated my UB control deck. Saffi's classic role in commander is wrath protection and she's even better at it in cube where games are faster and life totals are lower.
Wydwen, the Biting Gale is pretty good also. She's definitely not the most interesting general I run but I need a solid UB control general and she is about as good as anything out there I'd be willing to run. There were a lot of combat steps where I'd flash her in, block, and bounce her pre-damage just to buy myself a little more time. She's also a pretty good tempo general and caries a sword really well.
Sedris:
Bottom line, Sedris was better than I thought he'd be. I drafted a super techy and fun artifact control deck with Goblin Welder, Metalworker, Tezzeret, the Seeker, Wurmcoil Engine, Batterskull, Myr Battlesphere, Winter Orb, and a few mana rocks as the backbone. On the top end I ran Greater Gargadon, Upheaval, Wildfire, and Earthquake, and I filled in the cracks with a couple counterspells and a Reanimate. Sedris was able to survive Earthquakes and Wildfires and his unearth ability, which I definitely underestimated, was crazy good. Favorite Plays: Wildfire with Sedris on the board to sweep all my opponents creatures (and my Welder) and leave him with 2 lands. I Sedris, 2 swamps, a Talisman, and a Thran Dynamo and a suspended Gargadon. He dropped a land and passed the turn (with 20 life still). I unearthed Goblin Welder, sacrificed the Talisman to recur Myr Battlsphere with Welder, then sacrificed the Battlesphere with my suspended Greater Gargadon, then unearthed Battlesphere with Sedris. Now I have Sedris, a hasty Battlesphere, and 8 untapped Myr tokens and my opponent has an empty field. I Attacked, tapped all 8 myr to deal 8 damage, and beat for 5 with Sedris and 12 with a pumped Battlesphere. For a total of 25 damage.
Varolz:
Varolz was solid as well. My opponent built a tight BG aggro deck (heavy black) with the usual suspects and a few value etb creatures. Varolz was a solid and resilient threat, and he used scavenge to great effect on evasive creatures. This general will definitely be sticking around. Favorite Play: My opponent played BB to scavenge two one drops and pump his Vampire Nighthawk to a 6/7. I lost that game.
Random thought: I'm thinking about adding Magus of the Tabernacle as a general to promote creature light control decks that run cards like Oath of Druids.
In case you can't tell we are really loving how this EDH expansion is working out
I'm giving this a try as well. EDH drafts will involve drafting 50-card decks and starting life totals of 30 to allow for longer games, and each draft will start with a generals draft with one pack of 6, followed by a draft of 4 packs of 15 cards each. In order to support drafts for up to 8 players, the expansion will consist of 48 legendary creatures and 30 cards geared towards multiplayer/EDH games (extra sweepers, general hate, etc.). The generals draft will ensure that every player has a choice of legendary creatures to use as a general, but they can also use any legend they draft during the main draft as well.
With these generals plus the legends that are already in the main cube, there should be plenty of options for generals, although I'm not really thrilled with some of the options available (particularly Baru, Selvala and Ezuri, and Surrak, the Dragonspeaker). I'd love to hear suggestions for replacements of any of these.
In order to support a 4 pack draft for 8 players I'll also need to add two additional packs worth of cards (30) to the cube for multiplayer drafts. These cards will only be added before multiplayer games.
Green was the hardest color to come up with good multiplayer support for, as Hurricane the closest thing to a board wipe I can come up with, although I also have a Bane of Progress on order. I'd love to hear any suggestions for cards to add to make multiplayer games more interesting.

So far I've gotten in two drafts with the multiplayer expansion, and it was an absolute blast. A Prime Speaker Zegana ramp deck won the first time, and an Oona, Queen of the Fae control deck won the second. The biggest thing I learned from the two drafts was that I'd included way too many mono-colored generals - 3 of each color - in the separate generals draft. I cut 2 of each color and added 1 to each guild. Feel free to check my cube thread for more details on the update to my EDH expansion here.
