It might get kinda bland, but if you dont' plan on having the core colors and it is truly and all artifact/colorless cube, it seems to be done alright. I would work on that storting though. Probably by creatures/mana/utility
There's nearly anything playable from Esper. And most of the cuts should come from terrible creatures, so it will be somewhat more colored than now. There's a decent number of cards that require colored mana, too, or at least colored mana to be decent.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
But they are, in fact, artifacts. Says so right on the card.
The non-artifacts are typos (since msot of this was made by hand on spare time over the last week). There shoudln't be some sucky tempest ogre on that list. It was probably some other sawtooth card.
i wasn't saying they weren't artifacts. it just seems like having a bunch of random, kind of low powered three color cards in here sort of defeats the purpose. obviously it doesn't for you. it's just how i feel about it.

Well the sphinxes aren't bad. I guess I'll cull the worse ones though.
Problem is, if I cut them, the creature quality will be not just poor, it will be really poor.
i think you're misunderstanding me. i was saying the project is more interesting to me if it's all colorless artifacts, and having a few colored artifacts seems kind of off to me. cutting some but not all of those colored artifacts doesn't really have any effect whatsoever on that problem for me.
if that's not an issue for you, don't cut them at all.

Any other suggestions? I trimmed most of the worse Esper creatures, but I think i'll leave the good ones. I think it's kinda cool that most decks will probably be between 3 and 5 color considering how good the sunburst cards are if you actually get all five colors and the very small number of colored artifacts there are.
It's kinda like - what would magic be if the removal and general creature quality was shockingly awful, but enchantments (equipment) is very good and hard to deal with.
Just need to find somewhere I can buy crap rares at a reasonable price so I can pick most of this stuff up.
I agree with this. I think you're sort of in a valley between 'artifact-theme' and 'colourless theme'
If you want to theme around artifacts, then go the distance, and use perfectly on-theme cards like Tinker and Shatterstorm.
If you want to theme around colourless, then colour-aligned cards like Court Homunculus and Crystal Shard break that theme. Non-artifact colourless spells like Artizan of Kozilek support that theme.
It's not a colorless theme, nor is it a "artifact-theme". It's "All artifact." The only non-artifact in there is workshop and I might cut it due to the inherent unfairness of somebody having it.
As above, unless there's a typo that I didn't catch, there are no non-artifact colored spells. The vast majority of the few colored spells are from Esper, which seems to me to provide a decent injection of nicely-costed, playable creatures.
That being said, does anybody have suggestions for the card list and not just something to say about the general theme?

There are a very few cards with Flash and a pile of cards with abilities that can be used at instant speed. I don't see the problem in any case.
