Ixalan seems like a really interesting point to revisit Tezzeret the Schemer. With the introduction of Treasure tokens and cards that can generate tokens, I am beginning to try and think of some directions to take a Tezzeret deck utilizing some of these aspects.
Outside of the Treasure tokens you have Thaumatic Compass and Sorcerous Spyglass. Compass is slow, but it has the ability to allow you to get into some interesting color additions alongside Treasure tokens, making a 3rd and 4th color even more viable while having some late game application in Spires of Orazca. Sorcerous Spyglass is kind of situational, but it is actually a pretty interesting piece of side technology at a pretty fair CMC.
This version is more of straight beat down deck relying on ramping into Herald of Anguish via Improvise, sacking artifacts to Marionette Master for massive damage, and/or ult-ing Tezzeret the Schemer and creating an army of 5/5's. With Animation Module, it's possible to ult Tez a turn after you first play him. It's also possible to flip Treasure Map into Treasure Cove much faster as well with Module+Tez's Etherium Cells. I've been testing with this one for almost a week now. It works fairly fast at doing what it wants to do, but surviving the first 3-4 turns can be brutal against fast aggro decks.
I haven't gotten to test out this build at all yet. I made it last night before going to bed. It's less about beat downs and more about setup. The idea is to scry/draw as many cards as we can to find Revel in Riches, then combo that with Vraska's -3 ability.. With all the kill, low mana draw, cycle, and sack spells in the deck, it isn't hard to flip Search for Azcanta into Azcanta, the Sunken Ruin, so we can find our combo pieces. Want I really wanna see is one more good 2 mana b removal spell because Walk the Plank isn't doing it for me right now.
Perhaps the most interesting interaction here is the ability to play around your own Bontu's Last Reckoning after flipping something like Treasure Map. Using cards like Pacification Array, Deadlock Trap, or Baral's Expertise to manipulate a board state in the early and mid game. Perhaps there is even a way to further utilize the mechanic to apply Gonti's Aether Heart.

And of course we still get to look back on cards like Fatal Push, Battle at the Bridge, Mechanized Production, Metallic Rebuke, and Inspiring Statuary.
I am fond of Inspiring Statuary + Pull from Tomorrow + The Locust God
Anyone else interested in revisiting the possibilities with Tezzeret the Schemer?
