The idea here is this: there is very little in the meta that kills an awakened Cascading Cataracts. They can chump it, but it laughs off all burn-based removal, Fatal Push (usually the disaster of Awakened lands here), Cast Out, Unlicensed Disintegration. We can Crush and Outburst with impunity, confident our awakened lands will keep on rumbling. Of widely played removal, I am fairly certain only Blessed Alliance stops our Zendikari Fury. And we can use instants to buy infinite time while we wait to hit 9+ mana and Awaken Part the Waterveil for the kill shot.
Blue is our base color here, but this could literally be any color combination or run way more colors since Cascading Cataract also fixes. I feel like blue-white is well-positioned in the meta (assuming a low-to-the-ground curve like the above) since Blessed Alliance and Cast Out are a big game versus Gods and Hearts, while Negate and other counters give us the interaction we need against CopyCat and other control list, and we can just use our life as a resource and then Crush/Outburst any other aggro decks that take off. I debated Torrential Gearhulk since it's so good, but ultimately I felt we had enough lategame spells and I like blanking removal, plus we now have the exquisite Pull from Tomorrow to reload our hand.
What do you guys think of a deck based on Awakened Cataracts?
Thanks, yeah. They can still target your Awakened Land with Push and Disintegrate (as well as Never and Immolating Glare, if that sees any play) but it does nothing since the land is Indestructible. Anguished Unmaking and Cast Out fortunately can't target you at all.
What bounce is played in Standard? Engulf the Shore in various fringe decks? Brutal Expulsion and Unsubstantiate also see very limited fringe play I suppose. And as I mentioned in the OP, Blessed Alliance wrecks you. I also forgot that Grasp of Darkness takes down an Awakened land that isn't at least 5/5. Starting to look like a lot of threats...back to the drawing board I guess?

They can, but it won't do them much good? I guess in UD's case you still take the damage.
You could fetch your indestructible land with Sylvan Scrying, sounds good to me. Beating any sort of bounce spell seems kind of hard to do.
(Also imagine how hard Grip of Desolation wrecks this deck. Saucy.)

(Earthen Arms? Would you get 7 counters or 8 with constrictor out?)
