Still working on the sideboard as you can see... Cut the Trading Post's. Been playing around with a third color too. Latest was black as you can see. Mainly tried Whip, and it didn't work out.
And yes. Generator Servant is amazing. Especially for scutter. With haste. Yes pleeeeeeease!
Military intelligence is amazing. Wtf you talking about. Especially with this deck where you have 0/2 fliers that arent worth blocking, plus they can fly. Plus super huge creatures early game. Itellegence is super easy to trigger and gets amazing when you have more than one on the field.
Thats the Reason why i Play 8 0-1Drops + Mutavault, with those numbers (wich you Need already to make Chief Engineer playable) it plays pretty smoth (Never had Problems to keep it running in my actual Build.
And Hoarding Dragon is just mandatory, it allows you to build more flexible, while it curves perfectly out of Generator Servant, and it is even pretty good when you Play it conservative, as your opponents knowing that it holds a Finisher (or even a Dark Citadel in the early Game) gives it kind of Pseudo Protection (its only weakness are exiling or bouncing removal).
I don't like hoarding dragon, I hate to be the "dies to removal" guy, but if its ability triggered whenever it left the battlefield then maybe I would like it. As it stands having to die and having no way in our own deck to guarentee this and with numerous exile removal effects being playable I don't see him as a great addition, plus he only puts the card in your hand.
I've really, really liked it so far. It's very aggressive but can go into midgame quite easily with Soul and Doom Engine.
It's got a blistering fast godhand (Just last game I went T1: Mutavault, Ornithopter, Ornithopter, Springleaf Drum, Springleaf Drum into T2 Steam Vents --> 2x Ensoul Artifact).
I like taking this deck the aggro route, I've often found myself getting a ton of early damage, and as they start to stabilize, being able to burn for the finish with Stoke The Flames and Shrapnel Blast. I'm loving this so far, will continue testing for sure.
All of you thinking about Ensoul Artifact as a 2 for 1, think about this:
You usually get in 5 damage before they can do anything, then they have to waste a removal spell on it. Its basically a blightning. If you're playing an Ensoul on anything other than a citidel late game, you should only be out of other options. Besides... our most reliable win conditions are Scuttling Doom Engines swinging in or shrapnel blasts to the face, or a combination of the two preferably. A 5/5 flier should be treated as a diversion and not a win condition.
I'm going to try a few different things for card draw engines. The first one I want to try is Font of Fortunes. I tried a few Magma Jets a few builds back, but I never really liked seeing it in my hand. Sure it might pick off a creature here and there, but it just doesnt add to the overall power plays that this deck is centered aroundd.
What this deck really needs is another way to make Ornithopter relevant. Like Ravager Affinity had Skullclamp and then Cranial Plating. Lifelink would be nice too, but I tried splashing black with Whip. Again I was running into the problem of not liking it when I saw it in my hand.
For going with the more aggro variant, has anyone considered Cloudfin Raptor? Seems like it'd be pretty easy to Evolve him - Ornithopter and Chief Engineer can give you the first trigger, Generator Servant can give you triggers 1-2, Illusory Angel and Doom Engine can pretty much always trigger.
It's another evasive creature to try and whittle your opponent into Shrapnel Blast or Doom Engine/Blast range. It's also another cheap creature to Convoke off of or let you cast an early Angel. While it's not the God Draw of Turn 2 Ensoul, going turn 1 Raptor, turn 2 Ornithopter, Illusory Angel is still a pretty good start.

How are you getting a turn 2 angel? She doesn't have convoke.
Well I guess you could do turn 1, spring leaf drum, turn 2 ornithopter then angel.

Oops, my fault. I was thinking of the CMC wrong. Sorry.
I still think Cloudfin might play well in the deck. But I'm pretty inexperienced.
I originally thought the same, but it's not really gonna get past 2 power, and that's a best-case scenario. Now, along those lines, Judge's Familiar might work out just as well. Quick checklist:
-1 CMC
-Blue
-Plays nice with Springleaf Drum
-Tempo play to disrupt opponent's removal even if tapped
-isn't utterly useless later
I tried cloudfin and it just doesnt have the synergy with this deck. If you're going to run cloudfin, you may as well be running a blue devotion / convoke deck (which i've seen around mind you).
Remember devouring light has convoke, which can make it quite the suprise with white weenie decks which look like they will see play with the obelisk of urd around.

I am missing 4 spots and these are the cards in my shortlist: Dragonshift to make any engineers, servant or onithopers swing for big hits, Turn//Burn for removal of anything, added burn to the face or make Scuttling Doom Engine unblockable, Divination for straight card draw and Hidden Strings for some nifty tricks and ramp with convoke.

I think i would just toss in 4 Magma Jet, helps vs aggro and helps you find your "combo" pieces. This is a deck that is very dependant on having the right cards at the right time, Magma Jet helps a lot in that regard.
(If we had had a proper draw/search spell in blue i would have used that, but alas we do not. And divination sucks)
Darksteel Ingot is another indestructible target for Ensoul and it helps w/the mana. There are really very few colored cards in the deck. I'm pondering Rogue's Passage instead of Temple of Epiphany. Radiant Fountain b/c I just have the feeling I will be taking some decent damage from my opponent and I need the time to get everything together. Sliver Constructs, I was just looking for more artifact creatures and didn't want to use Bronze Sable Plus when (not if since it's only valid for 2 months) people play Slivers, we get some benefit from their plays.
I went really heavy on the artifacts so there is always a valid target for Shrapnel Blast, but this way we also have 21 creatures and 3 Gods. Plus Mutavaults and we will be making some creatures w/Ensoul along the way.
I think there is something that could be done with the Keyrunes before they rotate. I was really looking at the Simic Keyrune. 2/3 Hexproof. Throw in some pump via Equipment. You can still ramp into all the goodies and you also get Chord of Calling.
Dakra Mystic and Prophetic Prism give you some draw.
Turn to Frog could work it's way in and Negate to side but I want to protect the pieces that make it work.
just a thought I wanted to share.

I really like the direction this list is going, I would probably go -1 Chief Engineer for +1 land and sideboard the Phyrexian Revoker for something else, maybe Military Intelligence?

I thought about him, but I honestly think he is too slow and we won't be playing a lot of devotion for him. Not sure if he fits.
Maybe 2x Dragonshift and 2x Divination. Seems like a plan. Dragonshift can also save your artifact guys from some removal by making them non-artifacts
