"Please give me Madcap Skills!" Really, he'd be a 4/3 double strike trampler who forces extra blockers or none at all. Or else, put him in a UR deck with Aqueous Form.

I think we've got to playtest this one. Seems very strong in a vacuum if you can keep blockers out of the way, and dying to removal isn't really notable as it's just a 3-drop that is getting 1 for 1'd (happens all the time). Could also work fine with Chandra, Pyromaster. There's a decent bit of flavor/redundancy in the 0 and trigger, but the +1 clearing blockers is suddenly more relevant.
Main issue I can think of is Sylvan Caryatid, which might force out Titan's Strength, Madcap Skills, etc
Ghor Clan Rampager is also a pretty cool idea, although I'm not really sure about this card in a Rampager deck. You'd either rather run Domri/Courser/Boon Satyr (Monsters shell, GG is important and the cards are similar/greater power level) or just rather run Fanatic of Xeganos (in RG Aggro), which is insanely good in a face smashy deck.
It's an intriguing card, and while the power level seems strong by itself, there are some forces working against it (blockers, isn't the fastest clock, what kind of deck wants to connect but wants this kind of CA, etc). Maybe some kind of tempo deck with legit pump spells (Nivix Cyclops? UR Heroic?)? Plenty of possibilities here.
Serious, non-trolling question: Why would anyone play this?
We don't see any scroll thief play and he's strictly better (albeit in a different colour).
I mean maybe if he was hexproof it might make up for the downside of not actually drawing the cards and enable some kind of voltron auras thing, but as it stands, you put the auras on him to help him get you the exiled cards, you wait an entire turn to untap everything so you can actually play the exiled cards in time, then you weep softly in the corner after he gets doombladed.
Just seems like a weak 3rd or 4th pick in limited. I seriously don't get why he's a higher rarity level than common.
Its funny how much people are underestimating this card
It's going to attack on turn 4 for 2 damage...there are about a billion things that can block it. Sure, slap on a Madcap Skills. Get 2 for 1'd. That's why it's not being played right now.
Well, yeah, scroll thief doesn't see play. Blue has WAY better options for drawing cards.
Red, however, does not. It also doesn't have a way to clear land drops from your top deck to power through to burn/weenies. This guy needs other cards to function at a high level, sure, but he's flirting with showing some real power. Even just sticking him against control is amazing.

How is Scroll Thief "strictly better", or even somewhat better than Flamespeaker? Flamespeaker attacks for 2 a turn. Scroll Thief attacks for 1. Flamespeaker can attack through an X/1 blocker. Scroll Thief can't. Flamespeaker has trample, thus he can use burn and attack buffs to go through blockers. Scroll Thief can't.
What's happening here is that you're overvaluing the hard card draw that Scroll Thief gives over the virtual card draw Flamespeaker offers. How is hard drawing on damage better when you have far less opportunities to land that damage?
Also, you don't understand how Flamespeaker's card draw works. You have until the end of your turn to play the exiled card. Once your turn ends, you lose the card.
Another note if I am reading this correctly, if he goes completely un blocked or is pumped and gets some trample over the top on the first swing, his doublestrike nets 2 cards off the top. That seems very good in red.
This card may be a trap card. 1 power is REALLY bad for 3 mana, there is potential with its abilities, but with removal practically crushing the meta under its weight; I wouldn't be surprised if this card misses.
This card has so much potential, and depending on what else is spoiled or what 1CMC instants get printed, this thing might see play. I see some serious undervaluing going on in this thread.

I see the opposite. Then again it's the spoiler season so why am I even trying.
This cards just yells TRAP so hard I can't bear the hype. Sure, there are cases when it's good (burn & titan's strength give you some options), but then there are the cases where he absolutely STINKS.
Too unwieldy, or ridiculous source of card advantage for R?
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

In limited you have tricks and bestow
In constructed you have Doom Blades, Ultimate Prices and Hero's Downfalls
I know in which format I'd rather play this dude
